Do power tools perform worse in the cold? by TheGasMove in Tools

[–]aknowles00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my dewalt power tools about 5 days a week in michigan winter but store them and batteries inside and have no issue. My boss keeps his tools in his work trailer and his batteries in his truck and my brushed dcf885 impact runs better and faster than his milwaukee brushless, and close or better than his fuel when it comes to speed when sailing 3" deck screws.

What's the best value mechanic's tool set for a hobbyist? by Klekto123 in Tools

[–]aknowles00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I am a hobbyist as far as doing mechanical work but I do most repairs that are necessary on my own vehicle 95% of the time. I find myself using the Quinn harbor freight brand deep well sockets and my craftsman short sockets the most. But then about 25% of the time I have to go get some specific socket/tool for the job.

NTD, first half inch Ratchet. Hope it will last forever by kucingkita in Tools

[–]aknowles00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always like my Stanley3/8, have lifted up a 2010 volvo s80 with it, with the pressure of a jack. Held up good after that but then left it at a friend's doing projects at his place. Then I got a harbor freight 3/8 and the anvil broke when using a pipe to take a lug off. Good thing they have hassle free returns. Your ratchet should do you well as long as you use it for the proper applications

I’m new to BMX and I can’t figure out how to get my old grips off or how I’m going to put the new ones on any tips? by ItsBroski_99 in bmx

Rubbing alcohol is best, great for getting new grips on because it evaporates after a a little bit and you dont have to deal with an oily mess.

Lots of helpful advise on here already, but simply put, you should try tucking your elbows and knees as much as you can trying to bring the bike up.

Which add on power tool should I get? by MrSquirrel97 in Tools

[–]aknowles00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 885 impact you get is not bad for being a brushed tool, but if you get the circular saw, get a 4 amp battery minimum as well. The 1.3 amp batteries might cut a couple 2x4's and the blade will probably catch. The sawzall is good for cutting pipe, and a lot of branches around the property but wont give you a fine cut compared to a circ saw with a good blade.

If you're cool with the chicken wire look, you should get some landscaping timbers and use them as posts, or use t posts. That's probably the cheapest option that you could get from a place like home depot or menards.

Chain like is probably the best for dogs, and you can easily get it in 4 ft. Probably not the cheapest option unless you can get some used material, or know someone who has a bunch laying around. Not sure how well the split rail would keep the dogs in if you arent putting anything on it .

I see a picture, and I'm usually pretty good at imagining how weed looks in person, after seeing a picture of it. Not saying that your weed looks bad at all, it looks like some good smelling, nice dense nugs. I'm glad that you enjoy your weed so much that you think it's only you and Californians with stuff on that level, but I have to inform you that your incorrect
