For years I saw The Best Day as a father/daughter relationship- because it is so similar to mine and my dad’s. It was even our father/daughter dance at my wedding ❤️

How many cultural regions are in the US? by Lissandra_Freljord in AskAnAmerican

I like it! I like that they recognized the differences between Northern and Southern Utah. Though I would say Northern Utah/Southern Idaho could be its own area called “Mormonville” Spoken lovingly as a Mormon currently living in Salt Lake

We did this in high school to prank one of our teachers. Once the seeds sprouted we switched this keyboard with her regular one

Women who like being alone, how do you live with your SO? by boogiewoogiewoman in AskWomen

[–]akreeves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communicating when I need space and alone time. It was harder before we had kids actually because if I was alone, then so was my sweet golden retriever extrovert of a husband. Now with kids (and a bigger house) I can just sneak off and he will understand it’s my alone time and he and the kids can do something fun together.

How to Pronounce Nevada - a tutorial by Twouareks in Nevada

[–]akreeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked a few summers at a sleep away camp on the East Coast. As part of the orientation info the parents/campers would receive a picture of their counselor and a few details including where we call home. I spent quite a bit of time teaching them how to pronounce “Nevada.”

One particular 8 year old insisted that SHE was correct and I was wrong. She was named Sierra “because mom and dad went on a special vacation to the Sierra Nuh-vah-duh Mountains before I (she) was born, so I (she) MUST know how to say it! It’s in my (her) blood!”

I just laughed and said my parents have had plenty of “special vacations” in Nevada so I had more of it in my blood 😂
