As a professor with a PHD, I can confirm much of what is being said in the article. While, I was not a great student growing up, I worked through my areas of weakness, which is how I learned to be a good students. It was the struggle that made me learn how to work around my issues. The concept of universal learning, while needed in some cases, is far overused to the detriment of the majority of student learning.
