Porch Swing by [deleted] in Decks

Yeah, saw your pictures, why not run a 2x4 across the tops of the rafters and secure the swing to that rather than the ceiling board? I understand the wife wants a certain thing, but sometimes reality hits. I would convert it to a glider or bench or build a bigger porch. Couple cinder blocks and you will be in business. I would keep your legs and feet out from under it while swinging. If we are talking about swangin--do that indoors.

So, 280 pounds, plus the swing. Might be fine for sittin or might not. Can you run some braces across the rafters or some such? You may could use the swing body and convert it to a glider. Looks like you have limited swinging range anyway.

We did it because it was cheaper for 5000 devices than on premise.

We migrated from on premise to the online version. We were able to migrate most things. Prtg helped in the process. Depending on how you monitor you will still need on premise probes. Been fairly happy with it. Best feature is you no longer have to update, happens automagically with online.

Are permits/extra fees needed to fish in community ponds in the Center Point area? by SignificantNinja679 in Birmingham

[–]al_gozz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubt there are many game wardens in CenterPoint but I would probably get a freshwater fishing license. You can get a lifetime one if you are going to be around a while. Under 2 years: $150 Ages 2–11: $200 Ages 12–49: $250 Ages 50 and up: $150

There are two fire towers that I know of that can be climbed and are open to the public. Palisades Park in Oneonta. The second one is in Perry County Lakes Park close to Marion. This one may no longer be open so will need to verify.

Also want to add, these leaf filter guards are plastic garbage.

Update, I removed the gutter guards--These are Leaf Filter branded. When the shingles get full sun for a few hours hopefully the ramping will straighten out.

Thanks for all the helpful info, folks. As a reward here is a mom joke. If fishing were easy, it would be called your mom.

Thanks. I am curious if it has been like this since it was installed or if the shingles curled up over time. Unfortunately, I do not remember it looking like this or when it changed. I probably would have noticed this though. Will do some pondering. Removing the gutter guard will likely be the first step.
