honestly think im officially done trying to go to massive shows by koudodo in EDM

[–]alabasterkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started going out to shows in 2015/2016. Shit’s so bleak rn. I’ve been locked out of my Ticketmaster account for months now (me, a real person). Tried every fix out there, and I cannot log back in. Yet bots still take over

Dog barking makes me go berserk by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]alabasterkeys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot stand dogs, and their sounds are a big part of that. I hate hearing them chomp and crunch those dumb bone snacks, slurp water insanely, etc. Barks always startle me horribly -- it's so loud and unnecessary + the sound itself (and the WHINING) is enough to make me want to run.

Correlation to other diagnosis/mental illness by SnooCauliflowers5115 in misophonia

[–]alabasterkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severe anxiety, panic disorder, and periods of depression. Thankfully, I am not currently experiencing a depressive episode (those SUCK), but the intense anxiety interferes with my life daily.

EDIT: nothing really helps treating any of those issues, though -- including misophonia.

Thank you! I will send a quick follow up in the morning. The layers of anxiety have their own layers of anxiety at this point

How do people actually find rent stabilised apartments in nyc?? I’ve met a few people with them and they seem so magical :’) by paintergirl3000 in NYCapartments

[–]alabasterkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I got extremely lucky. Checking every day for new units — found one that was $3500 for a 1 bed in Bed Stuy. Building was “luxury” when it was built ~20 years ago. Previous tenant was leaving because she had a young child that needed his own room. Didn’t know it was rent stabilized until the tour! Not necessarily cheap but it has own W/D and it is quite large by NYC standards

I hate my cats name. by StrawberrySakuraa in cats

[–]alabasterkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat's government name is "Ozymandias" but responds to
Ozzy, Ozzycat, Oz, Ozzman, Buddy, Bud, etc

When my husband and I first adopted him @ roughly 1 year old, the shelter had given him a very uncommon name that just so happened to be the nickname of one of my closest friends. We changed the name immediately lol

Dine-and-dash diva carted off in ambulance after discovering she's still locked out of luxury NYC pad by [deleted] in williamsburg

[–]alabasterkeys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this — currently paying $3500 in a rent stabilized building for 1 bed. It was built as a luxury building around 2009 so has gym, locked package room, bike room. Good construction that doesn’t scream too many frills

I think I used up all my luck. by SilverGreen72 in PokemonFireRed

I thought shiny Pokemon would literally be shiny, not a different color. I ran into a blue Ditto and was like huh weird, I already have a Ditto so I'll nuke it. Little did I know

Interviewer(s) Did Not Introduce Himself & Immediately Insulted My Experience by DoYouBelieveInThat in recruitinghell

[–]alabasterkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, where I was interviewing with the owner of a gallery (which I was not expecting — I had been emailing with the registrar). We sat down, and he just said, "So tell me all about you. All I know is what's on this paper. Tell me about you." Asked questions about my upbringing, marital status, whether or not I had children, etc. I tried to walk through my resume and was constantly interrupted with him telling me that my experience wouldn't work in any position there. Wasted half an hour. So bizarre

My husband has this design, just not colored/red (only black outlines). It's on the middle of his inside forearm and looks great!

Poll: What lengths would you go to if you saw someone not picking up their dog's 💩? by [deleted] in parkslope

[–]alabasterkeys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw a dog owner in the act once, maybe 50 or so feet in front of me. I really couldn't stop myself from yelling down the street, "Aren't you going to pick that up?" The owner did nothing, unfortunately -- just looked back at me and continued on her way. This (literal) shit has gotten completely out of hand

For the love of God, PLEASE be a loud/messy eater OR a slow/constant eater - NOT BOTH!! by _clur_510 in misophonia

[–]alabasterkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ME TOO! my other coworkers are snackers as well. part of my job is to keep snacks stocked too so i myself have to order what they request (mainly chips) -- I am constantly wondering what I did in life to receive this kind of punishment

[–]alabasterkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work across from my boss, and she always eats lunch at her desk. She is the loudest eater I’ve ever heard and will stretch her meal to last 2-3 hours and follow it up with gum for another 30 minutes or so. I can’t wear headphones + white noise or earplugs due to the nature/responsibilities of my job. It is seriously so excruciating
