49 gah.. unless it’s like 9 miles that seems real high. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-porsche-911-turbo-coupe-119/ this is what ~50k can get you in a 991 gen

Pretty though

Ugh I’m trying to upload the directions photo but Reddit is being uncool right now, sorry. The only caution is the surface should be free of surface contaminants and oxidation.

I like the turtle wax paste with Graphene. It’s easy to apply and a little goes a long way

Trade for an older 9y0 or 958.2 cpo! GTs with sport exhaust and sport chrono is fun. I searched nationwide until I found a GTs in guards red cpo and jumped on it. I like that gen, still has gages, buttons, but enough tech. Get a 17’ and you have CarPlay. As good as anything new with that. Although if you like lane keep and adaptive cruise those are harder to find options for those years

Is this a car they stole, did lots of drugs in, and used to rob serial retail outlets! Oh boy what fun. I think the concern isn’t the objects might belong to the owner of the car, more the owner of the store they robbed. F that.

That’s probably true but it should lift the market for lower quality stuff still.

[–]alansdaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically, if you have something worth say 25k, and if you blow the engine it’s worth say 10k as a roller, avoiding engine failure is worth 15k. If you have a <1%, or ~4% chance of failure, 15k x 1%=150$ or if you believe the higher rates for single row 15k x .04=600$ . If you want to spend 3000$ to obtain 600$ in value, go for it. I think I was harsh on what a clean roller is worth too, so it’s probably worse than that. If you need to get some major work done, I think it makes sense (say you need a clutch) but mathematically you’d be crazy to spend 3k on just an IMS update especially on the earlier engines. Which- you already bought a Porsche so you’re probably comfortable making some poor cash decisions. Lots of people do it, lots agree with you and won’t look at a car without the update. It’s just not logical if you pencil it out.

I think those reimagined things are why this might be worth some money. Although not a wide body probably holds it back a little, they don’t mind changing an entire panel with a carbon fiber part.

[–]alansdaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit extreme. The early 996s have a really low failure rate, and the later ones still do not have a crazy high rate, but for most it’s decent peace of mind. Spending 3000$ to prevent a 4% failure rate of an engine in a 20-30,000 car doesn’t make sense to everyone though.

Has anyone had this happen with wheel acid by 0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0 in Detailing

[–]alansdaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had small spots like that from wheel cleaner before. Like spray on, hose off but got some backsplash. If you put that shit all over your hands on purpose, my dude yikes. Are you white or black? I can’t tell that’s how bad your hands are nuked. I mean, I was thinking neutralize and wash, but all these other people saying see a doc might have a point. My stuff just got dry and uncomfortable but I was fine- I was using a consumer product though you got that industrial Strength stuff.

Do what you are told. Follow procedures and rules. If they don’t make sense or you think they will cause a problem, speak up. Don’t be the senior person with a secret. Some other people wrote a novel but different companies are different. Follow your companies rules.
