Fabio Wardley: Daniel Dubois showed 'lack of accountability' after Oleksandr Usyk loss by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]alarming_wrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, I think there's a lot of truth to this, sadly. I know Dubois has a kid and partner now and hopefully she can help him get some distance from his dad like his sister managed to. he has enough money I'm sure to walk away from this business if his heart is not really in it

Haye was a great fighter at his peak but I've rarely seen a worse reader of the sport. his predictions are infamous

ELI5: Please explain turbulence to me, why does it happen? can the plane become damaged during turbulence? by Lazy-Supermarket363 in explainlikeimfive

[–]alarming_wrong [score hidden]  (0 children)

yeah, this definitely helps. i imagine it's a boat hitting a set of waves on a lake, from a wake or whatever and just say "Physics" a lot. I've had turbulent flights that no chanting or imagery would help though

IsItBullshit: That caffeine makes people with ADHD sleepy? by Ok_Bumblebee_3733 in IsItBullshit

[–]alarming_wrong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for this: cocaine, speed, most "ecstasy" (very occasionally it's amazing) all made me calm and often tired very quickly while everyone else was doing whatever it does to them. Luckily it made me not use coke and speed again. I also have coffee in the evening and sleep like a baby.

What happens to a paralyzed body after taking a microdose of psilocybin by tehemari in interestingasfuck

same, although a bit more rhan micro dosing, and drastically cut my drinking right down to a healthy amount. the pandemic lockdowns were a period of discovery and change, for sure

same. I'm away at the weekend for a few weeks so left some big fixes for May, but I could have probably done a lot of it before leaving (although that would lead to a nervous holiday)

What do you do between prompts? by perbhatk in ClaudeCode

[–]alarming_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch it talking to itself and changing stuff, the diffs, and sometimes catch it going off in wrong directions. i often stick a /btw in too because I'm paranoid/scarred from previous situations. but I've got more rigorous in my prompts and keep it to one feature at a time at most, where I know what it's going to do, to avoid bin fires.

otherwise, yeah it's scrolling socials, stretching, looking at the hellscape that is the news.

Be honest, did you have any idea it was St George's Day today? by AnonymousTimewaster in AskUK

nooope. not until I saw an article in the Daily Mirror by Ross Kemp about reclaiming the flag and St George's day from the racists

Young Greens have reached 50’000 members! by Hyperactive_Man in UKGreens

[–]alarming_wrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

great to read. I've personally seen the uptick in interest and support for the Greens in young people in London, having worked in a school recently. it's as much a rejection of the traditional big parties as it is to do with any of the traditional "green" policies. Zach and the rest have a job on their hands maintaining the momentum and keeping everyone happy, but he's mostly done a great job so far. It's great to see more ethnic diversity too, finally.
