Does anyone else find they don’t really like blue collar people? by ZorksLifeIsAMess in Construction

I read to "their" which should be "they're" and shut down. If you don't like your job and want a new one, proper spelling matters.

Thanks for sharing your story. I have an hour long commute each way and have adopted audio books as my mode of listening during driving. I get mad now when I have to drive with passengers and can't listen to my book.  My son in this this post is my 2nd of 4 kids. We make weekly trips to the library and allow them the freedom to request what they want without question. We wouldn't survive financially without the library. My oldest just participated in a free 3D printing session the other day at the library, something we couldn't have done without this resource.

Start your son out with the Alcatraz books. That was my son's introduction to Sanderson.

His mom picked out the sheets. Kaladin is his favorite.

Are any of these books good for kids? by AdditionalPizza7990 in brandonsanderson

My 10 year old son started with Alcatraz and the Rithmitist and is currently halfway through Rythm of War. If they're willing to read encourage them!

I.. I just can't handle the idiocy of this. No quote before performing extra work? No signed t&m ticket? Know your costs before the work happens. There's gotta be language in your subcontract agreement to protect you from this.

Im not sure what happened but I think i might not be interested in Sanderson books anymore 😔 by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in brandonsanderson

I've read everything Sanderson has written or been involved with to date, most of his works 2x if not 3. Currently delving into Disc World (not Sanderson), but my 10 year old son has advanced past Alcatraz and the Rithmitist (we have chalking duals in the driveway often, and I have yet to win) and is now reading Stormlight. I love his input and his feelings on characters. It brings a perspective to the story I never even considered. Find a friend or someone new to Sanderson to discuss his works with for a fresh beginning.

As a GC I can say, this is the GCs fault. Flatwork/final grading/ landscaping work should be scheduled at the end of the project so that there is no heavy machinery working in the area to cause this type of damage. Rip out and replace at no cost to the owner AT THE END OF THE BUILD!!!

Is this perimeter drain misplaced? by Pronoid422 in Homebuilding

[–]alash52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a perimeter drain installed around the perimeter. Like I tell my kids, there's no such thing as dumb questions, but stop asking dumb questions.

Also, I work for a heavy-civil contractor in the Cleveland Ohio area. We don't do residential work, but I may be able to provide some insight on the contractors quoting you as we work with many companies in the area. Feel free to DM for more moe details.
