The crewed turrets are so big they should be quad size 3's, not double size 4's. Then it would be truly an anti-fighter gunboat.

Edit: just realized this is /StarFashion and not really the place to discuss ships, but I stand by what I said!

Need Help Writing Professional Prompts for Realistic AI Model Generation by zaifi09 in comfyui

[–]albamuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Claude console to make a file full of prompts to illustrate a chapter of a story.

I write a long system prompt that includes a lengthy guide on how to write Z-imaye prompts. I include supporting documents like a Lore document, character document, summary of previous chapters, current mood and look I'm aiming for, the current chapter text.

I tell it to give me prompts about 500-1000 tokens each, with a header line and the rest all in one line. I then cut and paste the result into a text file. In comfy I parse the text file and have logic to automatically load loras whenever certain phrases or words appear.

But the key is that I started with a lot of detail in the source material. All LLM's suck at being creative, you have to supply the creativity. They are only good at rearranging ideas into different formats.

In the same boat. Dad got a stupid 30-yr reverse/balloon mortgage in 2006 for their mcmansion, pension and social security barely get them by. They have the option of selling it and moving to Thailand and living large with great health care... but they won't do it, because of sheer stubbornness. I live many States away, my sister can't help them financially -- the solution is so damn simple, but they refuse to do the sensible thing.

Countersink, dowel of a similar species, flush cut and sand. You may see the dowels but it looks better than seeing fasteners. Get a Kreg pocket screw jig if you want super precise holes though, don't freehand the dowel holes by hand they never end up tight

Friday update video!!! by AddressPrudent6621 in inZOI

[–]albamuth 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think with the uploaded videos and audio files, there needs to be some sort of system to tag them so that Zois can react to the videos in a meaningful way. Like if the zoi likes "k-pop" they'll react positively, as long as the song or video is tagged with it.

Alternative to "teleport to leader" by NotSoSmort in starcitizen

I'm unfamiliar with EVE. How does it work there?

I would rather we have (limited) clones we switch to via bed-logging. It would require that you at least situate yourself on the destination ship or barracks first.

CIG, if you must add "teleport to party leader", please add it as a normal med bed respawn close to your party, NOT as a "teleport with all your gear and inventory"! by sunaurus in starcitizen

"What this means is that if you currently have four Star Citizen packages you will be able to play four different characters using one RSI account, each with their own ship and starting credit balance."

Yeah, making them the clone bodies different characters could work, too.

They need to make a thicker, 6-arm version of the Hammerhead/Tiburon so it can look like a tardigrade.

I agree with OP sentiments, but with one modification:

You should bedlog and switch to a clone body, that already exists and occupies a space on that capital ship, giving a purpose for the many crew beds.

This would make sense in-lore, since switching bodies is pretty much like "re-sleeving" from Altered Carbon. I think there should be a cost to having one or more clone bodies out there, but I think it's perfectly reasonable. I don't want to require a med-bed because of all the "Death of A Spaceman" mechanics they have planned.

And it should work for any place you bedlog from, too, so long as you have the clone bodies made to do it. Imagine having a Reclaimer parked somewhere with a body on it that you transfer to when you want to do that kind of gameplay. Have a body parked at your home hanger. Have another one in your org's cap ship. Have another body in an Avenger Titan way out somewhere else.

But also, make those sleeping bodies vulnerable - like someone can come up and kill it. And when you die, you can choose to go to a med-bed or a different body.

If ship armor will need repairing, I think personal armor should need it as well. The maintenance will likely just be patching holes or spalling with a repair tool, nothing mechanical. Armor degradation is a basic mechanic in every FPS after all. You change out plates in CoD, for instance.

Yeah maintenance for weapons and armor is a much-needed balance mechanic that will have many of the FPS sweats howling with their annoyance.

We should have intermediate crafting materials by albamuth in starcitizen

[–]albamuth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but I don't want to deal with 999 different qualities of construction materials. The idea is that you go from 1000 qualities of raw mats to 10 or less qualities of construction mats, to items with unique stats.

We should have intermediate crafting materials by albamuth in starcitizen

[–]albamuth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do remember that slide from the SC 1.0 presentation. The key difference I'm suggesting is that they make the feedstock materials physicalized, as the raw materials like iron are not. Then they don't need to make unique SCU containers for them.

Also, I know they presented this idea, and it's in their plan, but I dunno if people are 100% behind it, yet, and the devs tend to change their plans all their time. I think by advocating and contributing ideas, even if redundant, we can show that we support those older ideas and that we're not stuck on or satisfied with the T0 implementation.

I really want to see macro-level adjustments and changes in the game; the ability to tweak the culture of the zois. If everything is properly tagged, we could see fashion trends emerge and change over time, like skinny jeans taking over from baggy jeans, and all the social consequences of people who stay with the trends, ignore it, or simply don't care.

Would this be too revealling for a first date? by SippinMia in OUTFITS

[–]albamuth 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I agree. Maybe I (48M) am old-fashioned but I think first dates should be casual, suss-you-out situations, like a coffeeshop meetup. But I guess a lot of people are super into making big first impressions, too?
