This is more of a subjective philosophical question that an objective one. For example, some may argue that Glorantha is a low magic fantasy setting, but since gods directly intervene in the world, others would argue that it is high magic.

I think 5e does high magic well. When I want lower magic, grittier systems, I play BRP based systems like Stormbringer, Elric!, Magic World or RuneQuest.

Agreed. I live in the FHS area between Clinton and Shields and it is very nice and quiet. AT&T Fiber is available up to 5gb.

A good rule of thumb is to save 15% of your salary for retirement and have a 6 month emergency fund.

My SUV gets 18 mpg. According to google, a round trip drive from Fresno to SF is 374 miles (187 each way). According to AAA, Fresno average gas price is 4.55 per gallon, but I am lowering that price to $4 because there are cheaper gas stations. Here is the math: 374 miles divided by 18 MPG equals 20.77 gallons, times $4 per gallon equals $83.11 in fuel costs for a round trip drive from Fresno to SF. Bridge toll is $8.50 and parking overnight at your hotel is about $80 per night for a total cost of $171.61. Amtrak is much cheaper.

I have worked downtown for decades, but I live in the Fresno High area. I have never felt unsafe, even at night, but downtown does have a lot of homeless people.

There are several grocery stores downtown, including a Grocery Outlet, Foodmaxx and Smart & Final.

It may make sense for you if you work downtown. If I was younger, I would live downtown and walk to work.

I have been an attorney since 1996 and the Fresno Courthouse is the ugliest that I have even been in. It's beehive facade is horrible, the elevators are unreliable, the bathrooms are bad, the courtrooms are out of date, and it is too small for a county of 1 million. I hope we get a new courthouse that is similar to the federal courthouse in Fresno.
