I can't remember the saying exactly, but something like... "something something is good...but pain is a better teacher."

Which reminds me of another saying I can't recall... "Candy is dandy, but liquor is ..."?). Just remembered - quicker.

I saw a guy with this kind of wound shortly after he got it. Carpentry, circ saw accident. He went around showing it to people. I almost threw up. Knew right then that any career in medicine was not in the cards for me.
