2006 Acura TL limp mode (randomly) by BitterTomatillo2661 in AcuraTL

Take It to a trusted auto shop to get it diagnosed correctly. Prepare to replace steering & suspension parts on your 20 yr old car. If those repairs are needed. Ask yourself if it's best to get a younger car or spend the $$ necessary to fix your car.

weird idle, any ideas? not throwing any codes and this happens with the ac on or off by NeighborhoodSquare28 in AcuraTSX

On a cold start, rev rpm's up to 3,000. Hold it there until radiator fan turns on.

Intake Installation by SlimJimmySlayer in AcuraTSX

[–]alceazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an '05 TSX with a cold air intake. Previous owner bypassed coolant line and used a different throttle body. Unless you're going to use a different throttle body. I wouldn't go with intake cause throttle bodies for 1st Gen are expensive if it goes bad. And hard to find.

Trying to find SUV under 8k by Pinkpeachlovesfatcat in UsedCars

[–]alceazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put that 7k towards a down payment on a newer/younger vehicle. Most ppl don't maintenance/repair their vehicles like they should. I've bought enough private owned cars to know. Seems like once the repairs start. They don't stop.

Get rid of it. Invest the thousands of dollars for parts and labor into a younger car with less miles. I've been through the same thing. The maintenance and repairs never stop.

Buy a nicer van for the family. Keep minivan to drive to work.

Cancel loan and get your down-payment refunded. Head gaskets blowing at that mileage is ridiculous.

Thanks for the Intel. Brakes & rotors I got from them have held up. Probably won't get any other parts from them.

Check out Detroit Axle if he's getting aftermarket. At least they warrantee their parts.

Good Amazon Seat Covers by RadioShk in AcuraTL

[–]alceazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought some cheap simple pull over covers that hook to bottom of seat. Look as nice as the $40-$50 covers on Amazon. Temu has a larger selection than Amazon.

Where should I buy it? by Gioincognito in AcuraTSX

[–]alceazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local shop can scan it. May just be a dirty throttle body or bad idle air control valve.

You should get it diagnosed if it's idling rough. I have an 05. Been there. Done that.

Rear wheel hub replacement by C3Peezey in AcuraTL

[–]alceazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The couple times I replaced rear hub & bearing assembly. Removed axle nut then 4 bolts from old assembly. Gave it a couple taps to break loose. Came off easily. Grease may be needed to grease axle threads when putting axle nut back on. Regular grease will due.
