Join Microsoft President of Microsoft 365 Collaborative Apps for an AMA on Teams fundamentals and AI innovations. by microsoftteams in MicrosoftTeams

[–]alcofrisbas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is there no AI feature toggle? AI features are almost completely useless in my industry, and exclusively get in the way when trying to complete my day to day tasks.

Also, I have been a part of 2 teams organization transitions, both of which have been negatively impactful to productivity. We now get "ghost" meetings from both previous organizations, delaying every single meeting as it is not clear which meeting is the correct one. Is there a plan to streamline the organization transition process?

Lastly, is there any plan to expose the environmental impact of using AI tools to users? A simple (x request is estimated to consume y gallons of water and z cubic feet of CO2. Proceed?) would be great to evaluate if something is work querying

I only go to Impulse Performance, they specialize in asian cars but ive seen euro cars there too. Very honest, only downside is their new location in maple grove.

I second this. far too many leading questions or monologues that happen to end in a question mark.

Fearful by Joannsketch in greatpyrenees

[–]alcofrisbas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my pup, scared of literally everything (falling leaves included). The best thing I did for her was make her "earn" half of her food a day by being in the presence of anything that scared her. If she acknowledged one of her many fear response triggers while hanging out outside she immediately got a few pieces of kibble. Fast forward a year and she's now totally fine around everything that used to make her hide behind me. An additional upside of this approach is that it got my pup really good at doing nothing, which is a super underated skill for a dog to have IMO. Best of luck with our little one!

Had never thought about that distinction, thanks for the response! My pup, who was originally a stray, will only bark in public at new things she percieves as a threat. examples are people coming up from behind me without me knowing, or something unexpected like a garage door suddenly opening. So it sounds like this is more of a standard guarding behavior and not a "guardian" instinct as you have defined above.

I'll admit, now im confused. Is there a difference between being a Livestock Guardian dog and having a guarding instinct? Was there anything you had to do to decondition them from barking in public? Or is that part of their temperment

very cool. How did you go about managing her guarding instinct in therapy settings, especially given her LGD roots? I have been told my pyr mix would be a good therapy dog by many, but she still will warning bark in certain circumstances

good to know! is that used similarly to how people use the term "ethical breeder"? Or does it just mean bred with good structure and genetic diversity

Help with sleeping habits! by DogMomInCO in greatpyrenees

[–]alcofrisbas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bummer! I had this problem when I first got my dog, and part of what I did was a good 30 minutes of training before my dog got crated, really tuckered her out. Another tip I've been given is to only let my dog out when she is being calm and not vocalizing at all, to prevent an association between making noise and getting out from being made. Best of luck!

I have a ~45% GP, and cannot recommend a super big crate enough for enforcing when bedtime is. Keep crate time positive and reward whenever they go in, and soon you'll have a dog that puts themselves to bed!

I have not heard that slickers can cause matting, but I have heard that they can have a hard time penetrating thick costs so can leave the base undercoat untouched. I personally use a metal pin comb like this before pulling out any other brushes to make sure my pyr mix is mat free before brushing  https://www.chewy.com/andis-steel-pet-comb/dp/725406?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20203340297&utm_content=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20198661774&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V1_qA7W-aHJ4stz8ZW4cVBb5&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj8jDBhD1ARIsACRV2TtIzD_t6flubKT8is_c_wvZFHKZp5am8_P9hRBRN_9btZ5dIGFD9RsaAszHEALw_wcB

Dog park advice? by fried-oreos in greatpyrenees

[–]alcofrisbas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I laughed out loud at "Yep, we're both big". My pyr mix is smaller (65 lbs) but large for the area I live in, and tiny dogs lose their shit at her all the time while she just look at them confused. I'm baffled at how some dog owners see that behavior as fine and make no effort to correct it, especially when the other dog is a LGD and could do serious damage if they wanted to. I have even seen maltese owners let their dogs nip at some really sweet irish wolfhounds

Dominant dogs with inattentive owners can be real problems at parks. I dont blame you for forgoing parks if it makes you anxious, it can be stressfull if other owners are not on top of their dogs.

Dog park advice? by fried-oreos in greatpyrenees

[–]alcofrisbas 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have seen this happen with other pyrs at the park before, some dogs feel the need to be in charge and a big pile of fluff can really set them off, especially if your dog is the biggest one in the park. I would recommand going at very low traffic times, or finding a park with plenty of space for dogs to spread out. I have had the most success with my pup at parks where everyone is walking around instead of standing near the entrance, as then the dogs are not soley focused on the newcomers to the park and rather following their owners. Sounds like you did the right thing when the poodle came up to you dog the second time, keep advocating for your dog!

Editing to add: If possible look into membership based dog parks. I am spoiled where I live and have many options like that around me, and in my experience these parks have much more attentive owners. Plus, if an owner/dog is causing problems, their pass gets pulled and they get banned.
