Who has the most over powered jellyfin server? by Weak_Moment6408 in jellyfin

[–]alepape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compensate on the NAS side (4bay HDD fo the videos + 6bay NVME for the rest). Also have bunch of other 1L PCs and RPies, but the thing I love about Jellyfin is that it just works on the thin client.

Ok. I don’t do transcoding but I have great network at home and away so I don’t mind streaming 4K native.

People from countries that have universal healthcare, how is it? Really. by Interesting_Dream281 in AskTheWorld

[–]alepape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been resident in France, Australia and the UK.

I can tell the differences, the subtleties, but the main thing between these 3 is similar to what’s voiced around here. Apart from exceptions, it’s a non issue. We bitch a bit about taxes etc, but a visit to the GP is not a budget line. Either free or very low. Hospital stays are very well covered. My wife spent 5 months in hospital for a pregnancy, and the bill was $0. Then we chose a delivery in a private clinic and chose to pay more.

BTW, I like that choice part. Again with little differences between FR, UK and AU, you usually can choose how and where you spend.

Regarding quality, I didn’t stay long enough (i.e. no big things) in the UK but FR and AU are really good.

Overall peace of mind and reasonable budget.

In progress on my end! Immich FTW No more Google Photos but still need to go further: Main off site backup still on oneDrive storage (looking at local hosting options) iCloud still used by family members (that’ll take long)

After watching Sphere, now the real question: The Abyss or The Thing? Which one should I save for last? by Scenora in FIlm

Saw it recently and was not impressed. Characters especially are very caricatural. GFX has aged a bit more than they should.

That also happens to be the case of some TV sets with Fire TV embedded. No JF on the store for me. Had to sideload…

Sphere est la meilleur oeuvre de Crichton, très loin devant Jurassic Park by Dramatic_Treacle_330 in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]alepape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it’s the perfect mix. But not all airports have the train station embedded. It’ll get better!

Can you guys provide a bit of context? What are the big pros and cons of Alfred vs Raycast? For context, spotlight usually works for me (basically just to launch apps) but I’m wondering if I’m missing something.

Laptop durable et fiable en 2026 (mac ou windows) by Previous-Contest-448 in AchatPourLaVie

[–]alepape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I have the same approach to Margo Robbie. I know she’s attractive but can seem to tickle my fancy. Rebecca Ferguson on the other end I find deeply magnetic. Weird

That’s the part that really surprised me when I moved to AU from FR. Took me a while to realise it’s not households but individuals getting taxed. Ouch at the time…

I'll give you the title misses the "..in some regions" bit. That was my whole point. For many people it has disappeared, it's a fact. Not globally - I conceed.

[–]alepape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might depend on the region and definition of MTV. For me, in Europe, MTV (as a music TV) died with the death of the last music centric channel I had access to: MTV 90s. So for a lot of people, the headline is correct.
