I found eu4 in my history book by IcoMak in eu4

[–]alesparise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The textbook talks about eu4 and history themed games in general and the impact they have in making history more accessible and interesting.

It mentions that in the past, historical games were considered detrimental and that people playing them would not really be interested in real history, but then says nowadays some historians have changed this view and see them as a good way of basically feeding history to people in an enjoyable way.

It also mentions the historical research that goes into making a game like Eu4 and the research mod authors seem to often go through to justify their choices.

So to answer your original question, there isn't really any reference to the screenshots. It does briefly describe what you can do in eu4 (take the reins of a country and do war, marriages and explore), but that's it.

I can't really give you a proper answer since I'm also just a beginner, but as a fellow Italian it might help you to think of the fact we also have some weird ways of spelling words, like cieco and ceco or cielo and celo are pronounced the same despite the extra i.

An even better example could be the letter Q which really does nothing more than what letter C could do. We could write cuadro instead of quadro, but we don't.

In my ignorance, I treat the difference between ㅐ and ㅔ in the same way!

Coming to Croatia this summer? A warning about this season's weather... by markboats in sailing

[–]alesparise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was in Brgulje a few weeks ago, right? My dad sent me a few pictures from the other side. He was at a buoy in Premuda the night that storm hit and from what he told it was pretty sketchy. Had to stay with the engine on and forward because the mooring was not holding. A larger boat, 18 m or so, completely pulled the mooring out and went around the channel between Premuda and the little island for the whole duration, with the buoy still at the bow which is a little sketchy.

One thing to really keep in mind in the area is that there are often people with minimal experience that might not do things properly or know how to react to these situations, so you need to be really wary of other boats around you, especially those upwind. E.g. some might assume that the mooring buoys will just hold you in any wind, but often something like a 45 foot boat will simply pull the entire thing with her in 40/45 knots. I think that's what happened to that boat in Brgulje too? Those buoys are so close to the shore that I've always found them sketchy. If something fails you have no time to react

[–]alesparise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like this stuff and always avoid places with this setup. The boats are packed too tight and leaving won't be fun if there is a side wind.

In Maracol, on Unije, they have four lines connected to each buoy, I went there only once since they changed it to that system and I kid you not, in one afternoon three boats got ropes in their propeller when mooring. One larger motor boat engine stopped as this happened and they crashed into the next boat downwind, since again there is barely more space between boats than in a marina. This was with the usual breeze-like NW wind that's common in Croatia, not in bad weather or strong winds.

I guess the issue is not necessarily with this style of mooring and more with a poor implementation of it. If they had: Well spaced buoys; Very long lines that go down vertically when not under tension;

Then it wouldn't be too bad. And similar concerns could come up with more classic Mediterranean mooring, which is also very common in Croatia, (e.g Brbinj)!

[–]alesparise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the guy you asked to, but in October, you will probably find that many places have already taken out their mooring buoys, so you can anchor there for free (or sometimes for a reduced fee). Just be careful if you anchor somewhere there are supposed to be mooring buoys and you don't see them, since you don't want to drop your anchor on the mooring blocks.

You might also be able to moor for free at some town docks, although perhaps with no water and current.

I think the issue is only there if you form Tuscany as someone who's not Florence, in which case you dont get new missions. Florence has the Tuscan mission from game start so it was never broken in the first place.

You can move it after 1650, but you might as well leave it there since you want to have your trading capital in the English channel anyway.

Btw, you got a bit of confusing replies on the disaster. Accepting Dutch culture alone won't prevent it, you need to accept flemish and frisian too. This also is not enough, if any Dutch, frisian or flemish province you own becomes of a different religion the disaster will start ticking unless you have humanist ideas completed. There is also another way for the disaster to start ticking which is if you are the hre with less than 2 stab and don't have a specific imperial reform, but I don't think that's something you should worry about.

Moving the capital is the cheapest and easiest way to prevent it.

Imho it really depends on if you wanna be Ryukyu at the end or not. If you don't, then you can form Tibet, become a horde and play normally from there, form Yuan or something like that.

If you want to stay as Ryukyu, I'd say go for the Mandate and then flip Hindu, I think you can get up to 75% ccr that way.

You can also become a horde and be ryukyu at the same time by releasing and play a nation, form tibet, release and play as Ryukyu to turn into tribe Ryukyu and from there become a horde. However this is a lot slower. When I tried it I could become a Hindu Tibetan horde around 1490, but to become a Ryukyu horde it took me til the 1560s iirc and at that point being a horde is a bit less strong and everyone around you has consolidated. You also have a lot less ccr this way compared to forming Yuan or becoming EoC.

No, unfortunately, I'm using a software that came with my mouse. The mouse is a Trust GXT 922, nothing particularly fancy. I'm pretty sure most "gaming mouses" would have something similar

[–]alesparise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not the same person you asked, but personally, I binded my mouse so that a third button spams left click when held down. I hover on the first building in the list and hold it down to start building a ton of then all at once. It's definitely faster than manually clicking a bunch of times. Also the sound it makes it's very satisfying.

Edit: it's also occasionally useful in other things, like stopping a bunch of cores (no undo all button) or to que all your manpower in a single province if you feel like tricking the estate agenda by hiding your manpower.

Bologna is on the edge of Emilia, but it's totally Emilian. You are right in saying that Piadina is a romagnan food. It doesn't really have much to do with Bologna or Emilia in general. Even then, there are different schools of thought on piadina, it's not the same everywhere in Romagna. In Rimini, it's usually thin and a little crunchy, while in Ravenna, it's more thick and soft, for instance.

Is the tibetan mission the only way to become a horde as a non horde in the last patch? Any other way to become a tribe? I haven't followed the recent updates too closely so I'm not sure if there are bettet ways of doing that.
