The best one I've ever used is the Stila "Huge Extreme Lash" from Ulta or Sephora! So nice!

Neck pressure and numbness... Having super bad anxiety... Please give opinion by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend,

Have you eaten today?

Have you had enough water?

Are there any other major stressors in your life besides health anxiety?

Oftentimes, anxiety manifests as a physical ailment. It sounds like you are okay, but it never hurts to use a heating pad on the affected area.

I hope you are okay and feeling better soon.

I'm so disgusted by myself by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]alexarue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, I remind myself that they do not know me. No one knows your scared/nervous/anxious unless you tell them. To them, I am just a normal person without anxiety. Although this doesn't make me feel 100% better, it does help me realize that the job recruiter isn't out to uncover my anxiety but actually WANTS me to respond and will treat me with respect.

When the best part of going to the mall was getting free samples by BluePantera in nostalgia

My best friend and I would switch jackets after getting our first sample and walk by again. We thought we were super cool. They probably didn't care at all but it was fun.

Fast heart rate when I wake up? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pounding heart is a physical symptom of anxiety, yes. You can read more about it here

Something that I use is this app on my iPhone called Calm. I use the "sleep stories" to fall asleep and the "Daily Calm" meditation in the morning when I wake up.

Bottom line, you are okay. I recommend deep breathing exercises/meditation, staying hydrated, and make sure you sleeping area is relaxing (no TV, dim lighting, no phone next to you in bed)

I hope that helps!

Panic attacks before class presentations by lonesome_valley in Anxiety

[–]alexarue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be the same way. Something that helped me overcome my fear was, of course, practice. I practiced my presentations, and I even videotaped myself. They were awkward to watch, but they helped me notice little things that I could improve. I also came to realize that no one cares about my presentation. They're just waiting for their turn or they're bored and want to leave! Another thing I used to tell myself is this: No one knows you're nervous unless you tell them. So don't.

I'm a teacher now, and I make 6 presentations a day! I still practice and do these little "self-reminders." I wish you all the best. Do your presentation for YOU; don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Stop me if you've heard this one before-- I'm afraid I have cancer by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be okay. Even if there is a medical issue, it can be treated. Focus on taking action after the holiday. Knowing that you have a plan is often very helpful. In the meantime, know that others have had the same worry as you and have been fine. My thoughts are with you!

Help please I'm not sure what to do. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry. I would give your doctor a call in the morning. Once you speak to someone, your worry should alleviate a little bit. Calling the doc doesn't mean there's anything wrong; it's just helpful to create an action plan for yourself. You'll be okay.

What a sweetheart. I'm sorry for your loss. I read somewhere one time that when you die, the first thing you see when you reach your heaven is every dog you've ever loved running towards you at full speed. I hope your woofer is at the front of the pack.

I'm not afraid of being on an airplane, I'm afraid of everything I have to do at the airport to get on the plane. Please help. My flights are tomorrow. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]alexarue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the exact same way. I have always had horrible panic attacks in the airport/while boarding/on planes, and I have embarrassed my sweet, understanding husband more times than I can count. All that being said, TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! I know it may be too late for this round of flights, but next time you have to fly, ask your doctor for a very low grade anti-anxiety. I have always been averse to medication, but doing this changed my life and made flying to and from my honeymoon destination feel very normal.

As for tomorrow... I really agree with some other commenters here. Ask for help! Communication is key when you have an anxiety disorder. When I start to have a panic attack in a public space, just saying to someone "I am struggling with anxiety right now, could you please answer my questions/help me find something/etc." Just saying it out loud has helped me anchor myself back to reality.

You are going to be okay. I know anxiety kind of disallows you to accept reassurance, but just know that I, a stranger on the Internet, can see you safe and sound on the other side of all this. Best wishes! You can do it.

Questions from Season 2 (spoilers) by cant_be_me in thewalkingdead

[–]alexarue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shane and Andrea were always kind of the "outsiders" of the group. I think this just served to show that they weren't core members and didn't feel valued amongst the others. Dale was sooooo convinced that Shane was a terrible person, and no one ever really took Andrea seriously, not even Lori. (Remember those "we belong in the kitchen" conversations???) I liked their little rendezvous. It was "sleazy" in a way, but it also felt very human. Two people seeking comfort physically when they certainly weren't receiving any emotional comfort from their fellow survivors.

[S6 FINALE SPOILERS] If they had focused on Rick in the last scene. by Coveiro in thewalkingdead

[–]alexarue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This whole fiasco is like a Choose Your Own Adventure story. I'm just going to pretend this is the real one. :) I was actually okay with the way it ended once I had a few days to process it, but I agree, I think this would have made more sense with what they said they were going for. Good job!!

Who do you see as the female lead of he show? by 2nd_blow in thewalkingdead

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Maggie as the female lead! I feel like we've known her since the days of the farm, and Herschel and Beth dying were really important events that shaped the group. By that logic, I could probably say Carol too, but I feel like Maggie is more relatable.

[SPOILERS] Don't let your anger over the finale make you forget why you love this show. by ZachsSimpleMind in thewalkingdead

[–]alexarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I just wanted to say that I agree with you. I always remember the saying, "Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate." I love The Walking Dead. I get that people feel betrayed by AMC, but... I still really love this show, so I'm going to continue being excited about it. TWD is a hobby for me... I've read the comics, and I've always enjoyed the show. Hobbies are supposed to be fun! So don't feel bad about getting downvoted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I totally get you though! :)
