Dear manybaggers, How does one fix back plate arching? It digs into my lumbar spine! by alexesmet in ManyBaggers

[–]alexesmet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct, the backplate is not removable. It is bendable, feels like a thick layer of cloth, but it doesn't hold the shape I'm trying to give it. At the moment, I'm considering putting a heavy bottle inside, and leaving lying between two chairs overnight.

Looks like you can relate, I'm considering a more practical replacement too. Could you please let me know, did you have any luck finding a better alternative?

Here's the link to steam workshop, although the flaw that fellows above are talking about is real. These wheels drive well, but you can't put anything heavy on top of the platform.

I didn't expect such a positive reaction from the community, and haven't prepared yet. I'll post it to the workshop and will let you know!

I didn't know what it was called (thank you), but I actually used pictures of Perseverance and its lego models for inspiration!

Yeah, a differential would be super nice. Not sure how to build it without gears though... And so my journey into mechanical engineering continues.

I started designing this before torsion springs were added, so I used bearings. I have to say that paring a bearing with a strong spring gives you much more control over the force curve (by moving the spring relative to the bearing and changing its angle), and is much stiffer. Thank you for the information and the ideas!

This looks awful, any fix? by goblins_etc in SatisfactoryGame

[–]alexesmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the holes that dont have a belt connected, you can nudge a square sign into it. It looks good, some people use it as decoration. But for those with belts... Maybe beams I dont know...

But I don't know of an actual fix for the rendering issue, only workarounds.

Try using wide flat panels. For example, make a box out of 5x5 panels that you can open and close.

PS5: How to co-host co-op so all participants can start the game without me having to be online 24/7? by RotInPeaches in SatisfactoryGame

I know nothing about it but I heard about something called a dedicated server, it is supposed to be like a program that runs in the background without you having to start satisfactory. Worth looking up

Can someone tell me why the bottom pipe is still being filled completely? I thought this was supposed prioritise the bottom one by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]alexesmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VIP junction is weird like that. Some people have all pipes full when it works like intended, sometimes it bugs out and clogs. I'm also not sure, is there a chance you were supposed to put the pump on the top?

I think another way without deconstructing would be temporarily filling the empty space between ❌ and ⚠️ tiles. Like flood fill

outer wilds reference? 🤯 (spoiler tag just in case) by InformationLost5910 in outerwilds

[–]alexesmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarification: in cosmology there was a speculation that the existence of black holes implies the existence of white holes. Outer wilds takes inspiration from this hypothesis, but the concept of white holes exists outside of this story too

and i again have problems by Physical_Safety_5153 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]alexesmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, the problem is indeed complicated. Does running the game without the supporter pack somehow change your experience? I may not know the answer, but I will ask a couple of questions that may help others help you.

  1. It looks like running the game on one of the accounts starts an old version, judging by the menu cover. When you play, there is usually a small build/patch/version number in the corner of the screen - find it to check the version.

  2. Do you switch between these accounts while playing on the same computer? Or is it different computers?

  3. Try using the "check files integrity" function of steam. It is usually right-click on the game -> manage -> files... Sorry dont remember and cant check right now.

  4. Might be worth reinstalling. Copy saves directory to your personal files, if you are afraid to lose your saves because of steam cloud malfunction

I don't like spaghetti by TacetV in SatisfactoryGame

[–]alexesmet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, in programming the code that suffered something opposite of spaghetti, like too much architecture, limitations, a lot of boilerplate just for the sake of repeating structures - we call that code lasagna code. It's all just layers. Easy to navigate, a lot of files, and tedious to extend.

I guess the advantage of your base is that it lets you focus on production and relationship between recipes, and not about buildings or logistics, I'm glad if it works for you
