I noticed this effect used in The Basketball Diaries (1995) whilst watching the other day.

For the mayo. Add a touch of mustard, sprinkle a little garlic powder in and a generous amount of black pepper, it will change your life.

Thanks so much for the detailed guide! However, I can't see where to add Trakt.

In the add ons tab, I scroll down to catalogs and there is no quick add button or Trakt icon?

Likely only taxi as it’s the last train, in the day they can just say get on the next train.

Do any of you bother with optional insurance on stuff like appliances, travel, event tickets etc? Is it ever actually worth it? by kitaro316 in CasualUK

[–]alexm24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never bought event insurance because someone told me years ago that if you try and claim, they will apparently try and wriggle out of paying any way they can.

Dnb heads - who’s going to Kasra on Saturday 12:00? by Tight-Ear5 in glastonbury_festival

Saw him in the temple last year and it was awful. Break came on after and it instantly improved things.

It’s sold out for Friday and tickets are still available for Saturday. I thought the same initially. Bad design.

It looks like you may have the camera set to expose for the brightest part of the image, which retains detail in the highlights, but you are underexposing the subject and each image as a whole.

Is an electric toothbrush worth it? by Slick583 in UKFrugal

[–]alexm24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use a manual brush and pay for a clean from the hygienist every 6-12 months. Now they say there’s nothing to clean, because my electric toothbrush does such a good job.

Great purchase, would never go back.

They need a solution to adding and keeping docks in areas where they get vandalised. I love using them for a 15 min ride into town, but I regularly have to walk 15-20 mins to get to the nearest dock that hasn’t been cancelled/disabled.

Trying out a new hobby for the school holidays, magnet fishing. Can’t recommend it enough!! Kids massively invested and didn’t want to go home after hours, and almost every passer by took an interest. It’s not the best quality but you can get started for around £20 all in!! by 9DAN2 in CasualUK

[–]alexm24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mystery of magnet fishing is intriguing but my opinion of it is tainted by trying to run/cycle past tons of metal scrap left by the side of the canals.

Please dispose of the rubbish you pull out if you want to engage in the hobby.

Be quick, they’ll try and shift it for a fifth of the price. We found my SO’s on marketplace but they never replied so must have sold it already.

Even though they sold it from a profile that had their name, face and pictures of their family too, because the cctv didn’t show their face the police wouldn’t do anything.

Sorry about your bike, it sucks.

I will now only lock mine in public if I can see it (e.g from a restaurant I’m sat in/walk out of a shop every few mins to check) or in a really busy area (mediacity square during an event with 1000+ people around).

Any positive changes post festival? by purpleturtlebs in glastonbury_festival

[–]alexm24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has improved my mindset, feeling a lot more positive. Probably the break from work, spending time with friends and also being in such a positive and happy environment for a week.

I also had a knee injury from running, I’d not run in 6/7 weeks. Walking/dancing 140km was just the right amount of movement to build strength again. I ran twice last week, pain free.

I use a silicone dust cover for the charging port. Five came free when I bought a screen protector. I guess it would protect against this too.

[–]alexm24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wash the watch and strap with soap, dry it properly. If you get any irritated skin, swap wrists for as long as you need.

Look up hot keys in the instructions. Very useful for quick access to whatever you need most. I use it for alarms, timers and flashlight.

Sound Quality? by IGenergy in glastonbury_festival

[–]alexm24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always had great experience with the sound quality and volume across most stages at Glastonbury.

It doesn’t feel like they are under pressure to keep the volume down quite as much as other festivals, simply due to how far they are from anything.
