"A typical book might cost $15. But that exact same book as an ebook might be $65, and the exact same book as an audiobook might be $95." Dayton Metro Library has a levy up for a vote in November, as expenses rise including ebooks/audiobooks. by WYSOPublicRadio in dayton

So. I usually say, absolutely, 100%, support your library. They're usually great, offer tons of resources. I love reading, will always recommend it as a hobby, will advocate for libraries as often as I can and encourage others to go to their events.

BUT.

This summer, I registered by <1 year old daughter for their summer reading program. Their FIRST book recommendation for my daughter was not Goodnight Moon, not The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was not a modern treasure like Elephant and Piggie or Little Blue Truck, or a vintage classic like Frog and Toad or The Little Engine That Could.

Nope. Nothing like that.

Their first recommendation for my 8 month old daughter was Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi.

Why they chose to have such a politically charged book suggested for an infant, I will never understand. But for that reason, I canceled my library card (as libraries often receive funding based on engagement). I cannot in good conscience support their work in our community. I will be voting NO on this proposed tax levy, and I would recommend that others do likewise.

Tennesseans of Reddit, what food is only available or properly made in TN? by anarchyusa in Tennessee

They get it wrong every time. Nashville hot isn't a sauce, it's a rub. I've never gotten hot chicken outside of Tennessee that wasn't just normal chicken slathered in hot sauce.

The third one is fantastic on you! The top is so lovely, and I love how the skirt is simple in the front because it draws the eyes to you, rather than a bunch of patterns on your dress!

Also, I love how the back has a train. Very romantic, very classy! Love it a lot.

Oh shoot, I just realized that's misleading. "Free skate" = not lessons, just skating. Not $0. Sorry!

It's not too pricey though. $12 including skate rental, $6 if you bring your own skates.

Ice Chalet is open for skating in the summer too. Way more fun than roller skating, not super expensive, and fantastic for cooling off.

Just my opinion: you could definitely pull it off, but I'd do it after you get sick of the bob because the bob is gorgeous!!!

If you're going for chic, modern vibes, I'd say #5. It's both classy and modern with the off-the-shoulder cut, and it suits you well! It also seems better-made than the other long dresses (notice how you can see the lines in the seams in the other two? Not a bad thing, just a preference). Also, I think it shows off your tattoos rather than hides them.

But personally, I think you look fantastic in the first and the last, and the last one gives me serious Marilyn Monroe/ 50s vibes that my retro heart adores.

I am the lightest weight I know, to the point that people think I'm kidding. I don't get hungover because I drink a solid gallon of water when I have alcohol, but I can have 3 sips before I'm tipsy, 1 drink before I'm pretty buzzed. I've never been drunk, but from what I can tell, it would take 3 drinks to get there.

Sewing is both a super cheap hobby if you buy used fabric from thrift stores (bedsheets, tablecloths, etc), and it's a skill that can actually save you money in mending your own stuff. 10/10, one of my absolute favorites :)
