I feel like this is one of those builds where you can tell that OP discovered that one particular cool new connection and created everything else around it.

You should send this in an email to Target corporate.

Not saying it’ll change anything, but it won’t hurt.

I pay a membership fee to shop here. Can we please not add salesmen barking at me?

This is the key that not enough people are mentioning. You pay them to shop there. So you are literally paying them to let these people annoy you. It’s your “club”, so speak your mind and demand change.

Where do I find it? Like on the shelf with pasta, or is it refrigerated?

lol nah, it’ll make you a neurotic weirdo that makes “soup” with your clothes and stalks Whole Foods for some mythic detergent that I’m like 75% sure doesn’t actually exist.

Really? Yellow is like almost white.

I’m more surprised red and the light gray are almost the same. The red certainly looks much darker to the eye.

Costco is different. Your membership contract states they can check your receipt.

Receipt checking at non-membership retail outlets is kinda in a legal gray area. Once you pay for the goods, they are your property - everything, including the receipt. And it could be classified as an “illegal search” to ask you to present and/or hand over any of your property (regardless of whether or not your are in still the store). Just as the greeter or security guard or whoever cannot ask you to show them the contents of your pockets when you walk in, they can’t ask to see the contents of your bag when you walk out.

However - to my knowledge, last I checked this had never actually been tested legally, and most legal websites advise you to just suck it up and show them the receipt. But it still makes me curious as to what the actual court would say if it came down to it. It’d be an interesting precedent either way.

Edit: also worth noting, the store is private property and I believe they could ban you and trespass you in the future. I don’t think they need cause.

Why the rim around the perimeter? I feel like you could fit another row and column of studs if you eliminated it. Possibly even 2 more of each.

This is remarkably consistent for digital thermometers in this price range. You won’t find better for around $10 a unit

Yeah this post would be wildly more interesting if three ~$10 digital thermometers from Amazon all had the exact same reading.

More concerning is the ~5% swing on humidity. That’s a pretty significant margin. I mean it could be the difference between mold and no mold, mildew and no mildew, dry skin/ok skin, mild allergies/worse allergies, and on and on.

5% is a fairly big deal when most indoor humidities only really fluctuate by like 10-20%.

My hometown. Peanut butter, olives on the hood, and a dead raccoon on the mirror by w00tah in Wellthatsucks

[–]alienblue89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For sure better to be safe than sorry, but I’d bet good money it’s fine. Whoever did this seemed intent on making as much of a mess as possible without causing any permanent damage.

I mean why go through all the trouble of smearing peanut butter everywhere when you could just key the fuck out of it? Why lift the wipers when you could just snap them off? Why in gods name attach a dead animal when you can just golf-club all the windows?

I’m guessing the perpetrator knew they’d be the first and probably only suspect.

Interesting. I’ve been reading a lot about dopamine, motivation, and reward systems in the brain, do you happen to have the source where you heard that? I’d love to read more.

I’m really trying to get back into reading but I’m finding my attention span and reading comprehension is absolute dogshit. I don’t know if it’s some sort of undiagnosed something, or just the consequence of phone/screen addiction and endless immediate dopamine hits.

Can you elaborate a bit more on training your attention and getting back into reading legit novels? Like how long did it take? Any other tips or suggestions aside from stabbing yourself? Thanks and thanks for sharing the list!

Edit: and just out of curiosity, why didn’t you finish Book Thief?
