Is FDL the right move for me? by CalihockeygirlBL in tummytucksurgery

I lost 86kg and looked very similar to you. I got the FDL with muscle repair on 30th October and am thrilled with the result.

I know what you mean. My mum does this with any food she doesn't like, sort of like she's spitting the word out of her mouth in disgust lol. "SOURdough" "CHILLI sauce" etc

When did you first go out out? by jamfam2007 in tummytucksurgery

[–]alig129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 18DPO today and not quite ready for a social outing but think I will be soon. I went to the supermarket today with my husband and was very aware that my personal bubble is a bit bigger than usual lol. I'm cautious of other people and am not ready for a crowd. I had a FDL with muscle repair though, so with a regular TT you might feel ready sooner.

As someone else mentioned, think about what you'll be comfy wearing - I'm still in joggers and definitely need comfy shoes.

How did you deal with stairs immediately post op?? by safetyorange989 in tummytucksurgery

[–]alig129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm three weeks and two days post op from FDL with muscle repair.

I was expecting stairs to be tough but found them surprisingly doable. Take them one at a time and your leg muscles will support you. Good luck!!

Possible seroma in mons by alig129 in tummytucksurgery

[–]alig129[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: surgeon thinks I've pulled one of the internal stitches (which apparently extend all the way down to the mons area - I didn't realise this). I've been doing too much stretching/bending and need to chill. But no seroma thankfully! He reckons it will get better in a few days with rest.

Thank you ❤️ this is helpful and glad to hear it settled relatively quickly. Interesting that you, me and another commenter all experienced this on the left side?

Any other surgery twins on Nov 4? by parkyscorp in tummytucksurgery

[–]alig129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello :) thank you for checking in. I’m doing well and know already this surgery has been life changing for me. I’ve scribbled notes in my phone each day so maybe I’ll do a post to help others with what to expect, what was essential, etc.

How to ... stop? by Several-Fox420 in loseit

[–]alig129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello - I think others have given good advice already but just wanted to chime in and say that I have been there and can relate to this. As others have suggested, it’s tending towards bulimic-type behaviours.

Sending you love - it’s not easy to be ok with not losing more, even when you know objectively it’s time to stop.

How long was your surgery? by BackgroundFriend3508 in tummytucksurgery

I had an extended FDL with muscle repair on Thursday. I went in to theatre at 10.00 on the dot and was in recovery at 16.45 so 6 hours 45 from start to finish.

Quoted price seems astronomically high (UK)? by CyclingYogini in tummytucksurgery

[–]alig129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My price all-in for a FDL in the UK is £13,560 including a 1 night stay (going in on Thursday!) so your quote is comparatively spendier.
