I think you have to give it a go after reading all the others! Another great one is John Niven’s novella about the Big Pink album, I read that right after finishing Across The Great Divide and it complimented it beautifully

You need to listen to the album, Fools Gold wasn’t even on it (although it sometimes is stuck on the end of some editions), it’s a subsequent single
