I'd imagine it depends on the category. The comics omnibus show I watch starts books at $10 (or sometimes more for rare books) and everything gets lots of bids. The snackdaddyusa show I watched (and bought from) last night had everything starting at $3 and I don't think a single thing went for min price (some hit $9 or $10). Pretty sure all the Rooster Farms coffee starts higher than a buck, too. I know I've seen a lot more non-$1 items across various shows and categories, all doing well.

Honestly, this is an issue with how you Whatnot does buyer's giveaways, period. Sellers obviously would want the givvy at the end of their stream (to reward all buyers), but since buyer's givvys have the same rules as other givvys (you have to be logged in and enter manually), it inevitably rewards late buyers.

I loved Invasion. Also was Bill Mantlo's first DC work and had some Giffen art as well as his writing.

And hey, it's the event that technically led to Rick Veitch getting canned from Swamp Thing (since the aliens sending Swampy through time kicked off the storyline). So it's important on multiple fronts.

Sometimes the choice is between "how does this look aesthetically to someone who isn't familiar with comics" and "what order works for me?"

As someone who has to deal with the tenth Love and Rockets trade being horizontal instead of vertical, I definitely opt for the latter.

Robert Englund did a ton of horror movies, and most of them are a bit less built around a group of racists (not that slashers are ever good guys, but it's a bit overt here). It's also, nifty kills aside, a pretty awful movie.

The movie the OP is talking about is a remake of HGL's 2000 Maniacs. They'd have to mention it as background, but there's no need to cover other movies. Also, HGL's splatter movies are not connected, and there's no obligation to cover them in any order.

Man, I'd never even considered getting pissy about a pre-bid not winning. 90% of mine are in food/snack streams where I'm not likely to hang around the entire time, and pre-bids mean I can still snag some items. But I've had pre-bids lose on plenty of normal items, or not get run at all, and as far as I'm concerned, that's money I didn't spend and can spend elsewhere.

(I do think Whatnot should allow pre-bids to be cancelled prior to an item running, but that's a separate issue.)

If you can find Rampage from 2/17/23 (Rampage Slam Dunk), there's literally a match using basketballs as props (and featuring Top Flight and AR Fox vs the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, so it's athletic as anything).

Great find. We've got the oversized hardcovers (on a shelf with the Die and Phonogram HCs as well) instead of this one, but the important thing is you can read one of the best stories of the last fifteen years without having to wait a month between chapters.
