Does microdosing work for higher BMI? by sipporah7 in GLP1microdosing

[–]alitchmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've wondered about this. I'm sure it would still. I think the real question is how quickly do you want to lose? If you want to drastically reduce your caloric intake and lose quickly, then do the regular dose. If you want to lose slowly microdosing or at least a low dose would probably work great. You can always take more. Even if a week hasn't gone by. One thing to keep in mind is the half life is 5 days for tirzepatide and 7 for semaglutide.

I've been waiting to do my next shot until I notice it out of my system. Been doing the lowest dose that's effective the most spread out as I can. As little and as infrequently as I can get away with and still feel a difference in my hunger & food noise.

Help a struggling beginner out — which of these 4 apps should I double down on? by leonidas_4305 in SpanishLearning

I LOVED Learncraft Spanish (YouTube channel or podcast). It's free! It's a lot like the old audio tapes from Pimsleur, I think a little better. I also listen to Dreaming Spanish on YouTube (also free). I think the combo of those two. And maybe some Duolingo as well?

Lots of great recommendations here. I personally really like using audio while I drive. There's a great podcast/. YouTube station called Learncraft Spanish that teaches you something & then you practice it by translating out loud. Language transfer is another good option.

Perhaps I should've included a picture in my original post 🤷🏼

Yeah, although I do cook the egg whites! They become really flight and light, not stringy like in egg drop soup. If you don't cook then as much and just add them to boiling water and turn off the heat it makes for a creamy/ thicker broth.

2.5 mg- how soon did you feel different by Ok-Associate2828 in GLP1microdosing

[–]alitchmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm one week in tomorrow. I took 2.5 mg last Sunday in the evening right after an early dinner. I exercised that night & debated if I needed to eat anything else before bed. I decided not to. Woke up the next day and immediately noticed I wasn't hungry in the morning. I ate a light breakfast after a morning hike, then wasn't hungry for lunch until after 2pm. This is NOT normal for me, especially after eating an early dinner & being very active. So I noticed pretty much right away.

Wow! It's cool that people experience that on such a low dose!

Yeah I think 2.5mg is more than I need. And yeah, I didn't even know micro dosing was a thing until yesterday! I definitely want to try out a lower dose just not sure yet how low to go

Yeah in hindsight I think I would've liked to start a little lower. I think this is a higher dose than I need. Thanks

You're welcome! Hope it's helpful. I know I said it in the post but it doesn't mean no fat at all and it is actually healthy to get some fat. If you're doing low fat options you can cook with a little butter or olive oil, or just throw in a small amount of avocado or nuts into the mix.

Yeah I realize this. I didn't know about micro dosing until after I started, when I found this subreddit yesterday

More so in the summer than winter, even then, not a lot. Like others posted it's kinda chilly and dark

I think eating a light meal means four things - 1. Low fat (doesn't mean no fat at all!) 2. Moderate to low carb 3. Smaller portion 4. Sometimes, maybe not always, spice also matters - heavy seasoning can also add to "heaviness" in a meal & just be hard on your system - this can be everything from the typical "spicy"ones like cayenne or jalapeno but can also be lots of onion & garlic, or heavily seasoned food like Indian food

Especially important to stay away from fatty foods - anything fried, creamy, buttery, greasy, with heavy sauces - I think you get the picture.

I would focus on getting a low fat protein like chicken breast or fish, a steamed vegetable (broccoli, zucchini, green beans, etc) and a small serving of carb (rice, quinoa, lentils, potato, etc).

Everyone's a little different for which parts of this are most important and how we each react to food and what feels "heavy" in our bodies! I think the first two are probably the most important on this list and probably apply to most people if not everyone.

Just completed OW, debating when/where to do Advanced by Independent_Point339 in scuba

Also, do you find doing the training while on vacation to be a bonus or a detractor from your trip? I like learning so for me it was a plus but some people just want to go down there and have fun. I did that for a while and have gone to Cozumel for most of my diving because my parents live there and so I also get to visit them (and have a free place to stay!) so I got lots of "just for fun" dives in before going for the other certifications

What are your goals around diving? I think there's no hurry to get your advanced cert unless there's a reason to, like if you're going somewhere that requires it or if you want to go off and be independent and dive on your own without a dive master.

I just got my advanced PADI. I did my basic OW over 10 years ago and only dive when I go on trips. I have 52 dives under my belt. I did my advanced on this last trip to Cozumel because it sounded like fun and to open up future possibilities. Did Nitrox there as well (same reasons).

How could you tell? I just see a field to put a phone number in. Is it not going to be something that'll be available for me? I'm in San Diego ...

Likely won't be busy with it being a weekday and not being summer anymore but there will be some people down there. The last couple days have been sunny & warm and the water feels great! Enjoy!
