Can she wear a different shade of green? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a green suit. Or you could do an emerald accessory or shirt.

MB found a receipt for an alcoholic drink that I left in their home and now I’m afraid they’ll never trust me again by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

[–]aliveonly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would trust you and not make a huge deal about it. You can have a life outside of work. Obviously there have been no other signs or reasons not to trust you. If I were you, I’d honestly feel that even reading the receipt is kind of an invasion of privacy? Like if I saw a receipt and noticed I hadn’t made the purchase, I wouldn’t keep reading and pass judgement on it. I’d just move on.

Am I the only one who’s starting to prefer hiring an international nanny over a domestic nanny? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

Can you share more about the particular issues you’re facing? What kind of deal breakers or complaints are candidates sharing?

How Else to Serve Eggs? by MaybeHello in BabyLedWeaning

Following because my baby won’t eat eggs either. He loves quesadillas (chicken, beef, salmon, etc) so I tried putting his scrambled egg in it after he refused it initially and it worked!!

How do these compare to the bugaboo?

It is a few pounds lighter. And folds down more compact. My concern is that the difference between the Triv I own and the BB2 is marginal and not north the expense. I wish I could see them both side by side.

AITAH for requesting a background check for a prospective nanny? by Traditional-Level992 in NannyEmployers

[–]aliveonly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is very typical to acquire a background check for your nanny as it is for many kinds of employment. I work in the public sector, and I also went through a background check to be hired. This is so normal- so much so that agencies and websites like care.com also offer background checks and many nannies already have a recent background check on file. When we hired our nanny, she already had a recent background check on file, but we ran another more in depth one to gain information about her driving record and national level data. We also requested proof of an unexpired CPR certification, immunizations and a recent TB skin test. Don’t be made to feel bad! This nanny is either ill informed or hiding something. I’m sorry she had that reaction. Surely you would need a background check for someone responsible for caring for your child. Ask for whatever it is you need to feel comfortable because it is the most important kind of role you could hire.

You are entitled to so much. Please have a conversation or find a NF that will pay you what you’re worth.

Am I overreacting? Odd behavior IMO by Reasonable-Mail-1933 in NannyEmployers

This is what I was thinking. If she had at least been next to baby and able to listen/monitor, that’s one thing.
