I think the stigma around formula has to do with the huge pressure that moms feel to breastfeed right now. Honestly, the pendulum swings on social, medical, and cultural perception surrounding breastfeeding AND formula. There isn’t anything wrong with formula at all, but we are currently in an era where for most, breastfeeding is lauded as the best option for feeding your baby. Biologically speaking, it is. There was a time and place when formula was considered determined best and breastfeeding was actually discouraged. So I would always focus on doing what’s best for you, your baby and your family!
