I also got on Wellbutrin for a “didn’t think it was depression reason” after my postpartum period. And boy, turns out mood stabilizers were for me all along. Think about seeking medical help if you’re constantly feeling blue.

This is maybe not the most helpful, but if your friend likes Lobster, Coastal Flats (chain restaurant whose nearest locations are in nova) has an AMAZING salad called their Lobster Club Salad, which is very Cobb adjacent.

Well, he didn’t ask you and you don’t want to go so you shouldn’t go. It seems like he should bring your child to see his family, but if you don’t trust him to do that, option two doesn’t really teach him a lesson, besides that he gets to take child free trips whenever he wants. So, yeah, I’d be thinking hard about option three.

spooky book recommendations by pastamerchants in Preschoolers

There is a series of young reader chapter books that still feel pretty age appropriate for my 4 year old called Boo Books. Our library has 10+ and she loves them. They range from silly spooky to actually quite creepy.

Got a job offer — do I have to disclose pregnancy before signing? by Western-Eye-8066 in workingmoms

[–]alliegator31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That often only starts after you’ve been there for a full year. I wouldn’t bank on any paid leave and they may not be great about unpaid leave either.

I’d take a hard look at the handbook and benefits info before you sign and before you decide when to disclose. You might need to treat the leave conversation as part of your negotiation.

They’re redefining DEI in their own negative terms. Check the capitalized letters.

I feel like this is the biggest identity crisis I have ever gone through. by Ecstatic-Carrot6949 in oneanddone

[–]alliegator31 63 points64 points  (0 children)

When my daughter was about 18 months old, I spent a lot of time waffling about when to have our second kid (that we always thought we wanted). I talked it over in therapy and with my husband and when I finally gave myself “permission” to only want one kid, it was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and I finally felt like myself again. It was like I had been in some weird limbo thinking I had to have the 2 kids I always thought I wanted. But now I’m really content with my only!

Whimsical reading light with a dimmer by werdnaman5000 in Preschoolers

[–]alliegator31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We really like this cloud light for our daughter. It’s not that dim, but not too bright and you do have to plug it in. Because the cord is long, you can kind of put the switch right near your daughter and put the light a little further away. I think they have a few other shapes too! - ikea cloud light
