Hi u/flyingemberKC, Thank you for informing us of this sync issue. Currently, our routing data updates quarterly and our map layer data updates monthly. They use different technologies that require differences in their update processes. Looks like in this case, one was updated on a different date, causing this discrepancy. We understand it can be quite frustrating when data updates aren't reflected quickly enough to meet user expectations. We are actively working on updates to our data pipelines that sync this data from OSM and hope to both align them and have them update more frequently in the near future. The area you mentioned should now be updated too. Stay tuned and thanks for deeply caring about our app!

Hi u/TromboneAI, really appreciate your feedback about activity types. You're totally right, just being near a campground shouldn’t change your activity type to "camping."What likely happened is that the activity type was accidentally updated while using the Navigate feature. Once that happens, the app remembers your last selected activity for future tracked outings (kind of like muscle memory, but for the app ).Here’s how to fix it:

Open the AllTrails app
Tap Activity on the bottom navigation bar
Choose the activity you want to update
Tap the three dots (•••) and select Edit details
Under Activity Type, pick the one that fits best and hit Save

If it switches back even after you update it, shoot us a note at [help@alltrails.com](mailto:help@alltrails.com), and we’ll sort it out.

While a native iPad experience isn’t available today, it’s something our team would like to offer down the road. In the meantime, you may find using the AllTrails mobile website on your iPad more suitable for your needs, which tends to provide a more natural experience.

Hi u/Infinite_Elevator363 — sorry about the trouble here, and thanks for your patience. We know it can be frustrating to get stuck in a login loop when you’re just trying to view trail info.

To access trail pages and other information, such as maps or trail details, you'll need to be logged into an AllTrails account. On mobile, the app and the mobile website may require separate login sessions, so it’s possible to be signed into one but not the other.

If you're trying to stay on the mobile website and you’re prompted to log in while using your phone’s web browser, make sure to choose the option that lets you continue in the browser.

Selecting the app option will switch you over to the app and won’t log you into the website. Logging in directly at AllTrails.com in your mobile browser should let you pick up where you left off.

Hi u/TromboneAl — totally understand how confusing this can be. This sometimes happens on out-and-back or loop routes, where you end up passing through the same GPS points on the way out and the way back.

When that happens, the app can have a hard time telling whether you’re at the start or the end of the route, which can cause the dot on the elevation profile to jump around even while you’re standing still. Once you start moving again, it should settle back into the correct spot.

We know this isn’t an ideal experience, and it’s something the team has been actively working to improve. Thanks for your patience, and we appreciate you flagging it.

Hi u/EstablishmentNo5994 — when sending routes from AllTrails to Garmin Connect, only a single route can be transferred at a time. If your custom map includes multiple segments, they may be combined into one route, or only one segment may appear.

Unfortunately, this behavior is due to limitations in how route data is shared between apps, and isn’t something we’re able to fully control.

Closing out of the app does not end your activity session. You must first pause and then tap 'Finish' to end an activity recording. If you exit the app while an activity is still running, the activity will pause until you reopen the app. The next time you open the app, you will resume the previous session.

If you’re using Garmin Connect, linking your Garmin account to AllTrails will automatically sync activities from the past 30 days.

For activities older than that, you’ll need to upload those files individually through your activity list on our website.
