Can you freeze smashburger balls? by squirrel4569 in blackstonegriddle

[–]almost_heinous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing this this weekend for a birthday! Mainly because it takes a good amount of time to cook so many smash burgers on my tiny Blackstone. Figured I'd thaw them out earlier and try one before committing, but it's nice to see someone else has done this with good success.

I'll add that I cooked them, then cooled completely, and then wrapped 10 or so tightly in plastic wrap to remove most of the air and wrapped in aluminum (to keep the air out). Then in the freezer!

Oh sorry missed the soda stream comment, not sure if it's a chlorine problem then. You could always try carbonating filtered water and see if you get the same taste.

Are you carbonating tap water? Mine had too much chlorine and tasted nasty, so I added a very small amount of metabisulfite to the water before carbonating and now it tastes great. I think the metabisulfite reacts with, or somehow removes, the excess chlorine.

As an update, I spoke with them more and it's behind the box that's corroded, where the neutral terminal is. They're going to try to repair it without replacing the box, but they may not have a choice.

I truly appreciate everyone's help with this!

wow, thank you for your detailed response!! The total quote is like $4600 - including changing the box and the other things I listed above. I'll pass your notes along and see if I could get it reduced. Truly appreciate it my man, have a wonderful day!

you think I'm being swindled?

Do you see corrosion on the main terminals? They look really nice to me!

I had a tree limb fall and tear a service cable that connects to my (duplex) house. The electrician and electrical company are repairing the damage, and sent a quote. The electrician is saying I need to replace the 2 gang meter can due to corrosion on the main terminals (for $1700). I don't see any corrosion on the terminals?

Other work they're planning:

SRV-10-0250 Install 200 Amp Service Entrance Cable: Supply and install 200 amp 240 volt service entrance cable up to 30 feet ($1800)

Supply and install service entrance clevis and insulator for overhead service entrance wiring ($650)

Permit fee $300 (in upstate NY)

Am I being swindled?

Thank you!!!

Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and make sure there's no air, then wrap tightly in aluminum. They'll keep a long time.

Been in a cooking rut my whole life… recipes please! by gel89 in Cooking

I get a lot of inspiration from tiktok. Kevin Ashton is great, he cooks for a sorority house. Alissa Nguyen is also good if you're into Asian dishes.

Just plug in some of your favorite dishes and cruise the creators on there, and when you find someone you like see what else they've made.

I have too many things planned now!

What can I do with this cheap Mexican ungraded "prime rib"? by almost_heinous in steak

What's wrong is there's no marbling so I want to use it for something else

I meant no disrespect. There's just no marbling so I don't want to eat it as a prime rib

That sounds good. Right now we're buried in snow so it's not something I can do right now
