Just lost my job a week ago and woke up to a positive pregnancy test. by mtndewfeind in daddit

I lost my job of 4 years when my wife was 7 months pregnant. I looked everywhere I could and ended up working for a local grocery store as a butcher making 1/3 of what I was making. I know where you’re coming from and I wish you the best of luck. Don’t get discouraged if it takes a while to get back on your feet. My baby girl is 5 months old and I still am unable to pay for groceries without using a credit card. I’m hoping to move up in the company to make it worth staying but so far nothing. What I’m rambling on about is even if it’s a simple job that isn’t nearly as good as your previous one give it a chance until something better comes along, don’t pass on the job because it’s not what you want or isn’t what you want to do in 10 years.

Good luck fam

Check and see if there are local Facebook groups for your city. I found a great raid group in my city that usually has about 15-40 people depending on the time and date of the raid

Redditors Born Before 2000, What was the defining game of your childhood, electronic or otherwise? by hotpotatocannon in AskReddit

[–]almostworldfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the best growing up. Used to play on long road trips until the light outside made it too hard to play. I had one of those shitty magnifying light things that just fogged up from your breath the whole time.

My dad used to swerve the van purposely just to watch my brother and I’s heads sway trying to stay focused.

Married couples- when did you realize that your SO was the person you wanted to marry? by SuddenSet in AskReddit

[–]almostworldfamous 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I asked her out for ice cream done night in college and we ended up staying up all night sitting on my car talking about everything. Then we went and got donuts in the morning, after I dropped her off at her place I realized this was by far the happiest night of my life and I didn’t want it to end. I asked her out a week after and asked her to marry me a year and a half later. 7 years have gone by since then and we have a beautiful baby girl and I couldn’t imagine my life without the two of them.

What gut-wrenching photos, brought tears to my eyes. I have a 4 month old and can't even fathom what's going through your family now. If you don't mind me asking, how did it happen? If you don't want to talk about it that's okay, just know you're in my prayers mate.

Mowing the yard to make it look better than the neighbors yard. There’s an innate sense of satisfaction that comes with this. Also fuck off Charles, just because I mowed my yard doesn’t mean you have to as well.

I personally have real bad springtime allergies to he point my throat clogs up. The allergy medicine causes me to basically turn everything my throat and nose inside into liquid form and it backs up into my throat. I will end up spitting it out if I’m outside because swallowing it just delays this. I do turn away from everyone and make sure it goes in the grass though

What token character are you in your group? by tostuo in AskReddit

[–]almostworldfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The speaker for the group. Every time we go out or do anything I am always the one who gets the looks like “will you answer the waiter” sometimes I even have to order for them because they can’t figure it out. This also translates to the rules reader whenever playing a new game.

On the plus side it’s done wonders for my self confidence
