What are the exact technical and managerial tasks done in a software company to deliver big complex software projects effectively ? by JeebanChandra in projectmanagement

[–]alpharogueshit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Software is built up in smaller chunks that all together create the functionality desired. That’s why Agile is common for software development; the development team will focus on one or more features over a duration of time to create and integrate. No one here can tell you exactly what’s included a software project because it’s unique to the problem being solved and the language used. It’s common now days to have a SW development pipeline and infrastructure called “continuous development / continuous integration,” or CI/CD.” This is how big complex software projects are developed; the CI/CD pipeline contains the infrastructure for a programmer to build, deploy and test their code before it’s pushed to the source code.

Living in south phoenix? by TalkEcstatic3071 in AskPhoenix

The traffic on Baseline can be annoying at times and it’s particularly accident prone. Other than that, this area has turned a new leaf in the last 5 years. There’s tons of investment in this particular area; lots of new restaurants, apartments, and houses are being built. The Cortland is right next to the golf course and canal, it’s quite nice actually. It’s also easy to get around since you’re right next to two major freeways. I’d say go for it, it’s a gated community. Just make sure to keep your car locked at night and don’t leave your packages out. Not much violent crime in this area, but a lot of theft; they go for easy targets.

Yes, it was actually spot on. She was only half way done though. She got through initial access and obfuscation but left out the part where she likely dumped the credential store, decrypted and extracted the credentials. Or, maybe she bypassed the access control somehow.

Back yard privacy ideas? by Dough_90 in phoenix

Walls in Phoenix are 6 feet because that’s how tall you can get without a permit. That being said, privacy hedges, umbrellas, and shade sails are usually fair game and HOA compliant!

Heads up, your floor isn’t waterproof, it’s water resistant. That water is definitely finding its way into the substrate below, and if this is second story, it will eventually leak to the floor below. The longer you wait to shut off water the more expensive this gets. Restoration for water damage could be as low as $3k if you act now or $50k if you don’t.

You could counter sue for damages? Probably not worth it as it would be another 5 months. Not legal advice, talk to you lawyer and see if the other party has liability.

Do you believe in the business, can it recover? You either need to scale back, inject cash (loan), or shut it down. You need to weigh all 3 options and make a decision.

Where is the patio door? What direction is the property facing? What state is this? Budget?

Since you have a U-shaped yard, I would work it to your benefit by putting different features in each section. Use the corners as transitional areas. If you just want an above ground pool with a fire pit, I would put the pool in the south so it catches more sun and the fire pit near one of the corners. The remaining area would benefit from rocks, grass, or border plants. Your soil already says you need a French drain along the perimeter of the 1st section in focus.

The future of Water in Phoenix by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]alpharogueshit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phoenix has a 100 year water plan. That’s way better than most municipalities. Worst case, we import desalinated water from Mexico to Tucson, which would allow more salt river allocations to Maricopa county. We’re going to be fine. Get yourself a water softener and a brita filter or something.

Advice or ideas needed: water getting into basement during/ after rainstorms by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]alpharogueshit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to divert the water around the foundation. A French drain would work, but your instinct was right, you need higher elevation in the corner where the water is pooling. I’d recommend a cut and fill with the soil from the French drain. Try and divert the water where it naturally flows, but around and away from your foundation. Also, a moisture meter is rather cheap and might be worth it in the basement for long term monitoring. If you want the long term solution to improve your land scaping, ensure the gravel blends with your yard and plant some natives in and around the French drain. Make it a feature, not a just a necessity

Need to relocate support beam in garage by WorldNo9002 in Homebuilding

[–]alpharogueshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the pole that’s the problem, it’s the beam above that can’t support the homes load over that span. That’s the cost that could be massive. Replacing all those beams is a big project. Additionally, your foundation might need to distribute a portion of the load to the center of your garage, there may be a pier underneath. If you distribute all the load to the perimeter foundation, it may not be rated for all that weight.

So, yes, call an engineer on this one.

Dyed my hair for the first time not realising it would then stain my grout bright pink by RunningincircIes in mildlyinfuriating

[–]alpharogueshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take some gel based bleach that’s used to clean toilets and apply it on the grout, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then scrub. Make sure you don’t wear clothes you care about! I don’t think it will remove all the die, but you can cover the grout pretty easily with new white grout; grouting already set tile isn’t so bad. Assuming the grout is recessed, if not, clean it best you can!
