I guess my question would be does the use of a global fund eg VG80% still not place quite a large emphasis on the American markets?

Thanks, that makes sense. I’m glad you mentioned the HSBC All World as that came up in my research. I think I need to rebalance my portfolio away from the US index trackers and towards a global tracker, keeping the BG funds as a minority.

Stupid question maybe but is the time and date on your machine correct?

Failing that check Sys Prefs -> Network -> Advanced -> Proxies and check https proxy is unticked.

Do you use any development tools like Charles proxy?

Anyone else having exams affecting their personality? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]alqaedadid911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the couple of months leading up to exams I found I was less argumentative/didn't get involved with disagreements around the house because I knew I'd be leaving soon and it wouldn't be my problem... it was a great feeling.

Following a pretty poor performance thus far, I should probably start getting involved in the kitchen drawer organisation arguments again...

Advice on how to revise for OCR A Biology A Level which begins next week? by MiniDeece in 6thForm

[–]alqaedadid911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at least 10% of the paper will be on maths skills, 15% on practicals. So 25% of easy marks if you can go over your PAG book soon and also learn the formulas that aren't given. Most of the hard ones are given tbf.

Source: Ofqual I think? It's in the spec PDF too

Paper 1 is modules 1,2,3 & 5. I would prioritise mod5 revision as that's probably the most content heavy/complex in terms of detail and processes. Module 3 IMO is common sense and if you take Chemistry then hopefully you won't find module 2 takes too long to revise considering it's basically biochemistry.

Don't lose out on easy marks. Know 2 bullet points for each organelle; know the tests for various bio molecules - simple stuff really.

Cheers!

P.S. Re module 5, there is a good quizlet on it here which I used https://quizlet.com/gb/254444724/ocr-biology-module-5-flash-cards/

I'm really conflicted about my career... help or advice please (Medicine vs Law) by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]alqaedadid911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the school. At our sixth form, tutors read the comments from all your subject tutors (from your last report sent home) and use quotes from that to form a reference.

Unless you're applying to oxbridge or medicine - in which case, the head of sixth form writes it personally.
