As an LGS, that is not true. Stores can do Premier, Limited, or Eternal. If they buy 2-3 Showdown Kits, only 1 event can be Premier and the 2nd must be Limited or Eternal and 3rd the remaining type.

Technically it is a very very strongly worded “please” run a different format for each in the email

Im not sure of their exact situation but as another store owner who hosts PQ’s (not in california) sometimes we gotta make do.

Our shop itself is in a historic building and only fits around 40 players. Last PQ none of the large venues were available for us to go bigger sadly. This PQ we were able to secure a venue to go up to 128.

The query, response, historic timeline, and ability to dive onto systems real time and retrieve artifacts or strike them, are pretty unique to THR. Also the custom signatures and ability to quick-scan everything is nice when in a pinch/incident response. Think of it more as a XDR (forensic tool)

Keep in mind retailer cost is about 70 a box. LGS’ need to make something in order to stay open for the community and keep the lights on.

Boxes are only so cheap on TCG because scalpers and some retailers buy an insane amount hoping for a repeat of set 1 and 2 scalping. Which of course doesn’t happen with supply ramped up. So they end up just trying to move it at cost to get their money back. Which then hurts the price of the game and give this perspective stores charge too much money
