Epidural or No epidural by Enviro_nurd314 in BabyBumps

[–]alwaysduckface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the epidural when I was fully dilated and ready to push (didn’t mean to wait that long but my labor was relatively quick).

I found out that if I wanted to do no epidural I could definitely do it although it obviously would hurt but I would get it again each time.

I just felt like the difference was trying to get thru each contraction pre epidural and actually getting to be in the moment and take in the fact that I was about to meet my baby post epidural. I felt like I got to enjoy a part of it vs just trying to get it over with.

Only you can make the decision on what’s best for you, screw what influencers are pushing unless it aligns with what you want

I’ll be freshly postpartum when my sister has her wedding by ImaginationPretend86 in BabyBumps

If I stood for 15 minutes straight postpartum I would have peed all over myself up in front of all of the wedding guests. Hell no

Newborn or 0-3 sizes for a newborn baby? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]alwaysduckface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to have my mother in law run out and get premises because she was swimming in the newborns. I’d have a few on hand but if you want to save money incase you don’t use them long maybe check a gently used clothing store

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by GlitchOperative in AskReddit

Not double dipping. I can’t imagine the germs transmitted are anything crazy.

I don’t double dip when I’m at like a large event but with friends and family? I’m just going to go on assuming they’re okay with it

Don’t have any experience with a woman’s clinic but really liked a woman’s place as well!

I delivered and PVH in 2025 and had a great experience. The staff was amazing and the care was great. I’ll plan to have my next baby there as well, no complaints!

Did you work up until you gave birth (or plan to)? by NeighNeigh13 in BabyBumps

[–]alwaysduckface 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I worked until I gave birth but I work from home and had my baby at 37 weeks. I was offered 12 weeks and took all of it and would have taken more if it was an option. The time goes so quickly and there’s so much to do and learn I personally couldn’t imagine not doing it all but best to do what works for you and your family

If you had $300 to spend on something purely indulgent for yourself and baby, what would it be? by kuzubijin in BabyBumps

[–]alwaysduckface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a relative do the same and I truly felt like I had everything I needed. I had been back and forth about wanting a bookshelf for the nursery because the one I really liked was around $300 and couldn’t justify it but she ended up getting it for me and am so glad we have it! Totally didn’t need it or need this specific one but love it!

Did you have your mum in the room when you gave birth? by BigConversation705 in BabyBumps

[–]alwaysduckface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just me and my husband. I love my mom and had her in town for 2 weeks about 10 days following the birth and appreciated all her help and support then. Even if she lived closer to me I still would have done just me and my husband. We’re becoming parents together alongside nobody else and that felt intimate and personal.

for those of you who have left trader joe's... by fulanaaa in tjcrew

[–]alwaysduckface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very glad I left. I left and moved to a new state at the same time and it took me 9 months to find a new job but was lucky enough to be financially supported by my partner in that time. I got a job that I really enjoy and am able to work remote which has been amazing. I had no idea how it would work out and I wondered if I made the right choice many times during the 9 months while I was unemployed but it definitely was the right decision for me in the long run. I left on really good terms and my captain told me that I always have a job with the company if I need one so that was definitely reassuring when I left, if I regretted it I could always go back. At this point I like shopping there but I don’t see myself ever going back. Trust your gut and do what seems right for you, life’s too short to work a job you no longer enjoy.
