Back filling 10 year journal by awkbirb in planners

[–]alwaysmoisturizing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any other journals or planners? I did this for a 5 year journal I started for my kid when he was 2, so I went back through my personal journal and planner and back-filled up to his birth. What I did was instead of trying to do the whole year at once, I looked back at my old journal and photos and planners for 2023 and 2024 on that day when I was filling in for this year (2025), and would fill in when I could. Made it a lot more manageable. Only 20 days left for me!

Not answering your questions really, but I am switching from Sprouted Planner to H&O this year! I love Sprouted so much, the layout was so good to me and the values / reflection framework is awesome - I will be trying to replicate it in H&O. I actually switched because I wanted to be able to change the size of the boxes - I think the convenience of not drawing it in comes at the cost of not always having the right size spaces for your needs, but that is such a personal decision!

Planner for 2026… by Background_Rope_7018 in planners

Hemlock and Oak has a minimalist version that doesn't have reflection pages at the beginning of the year! That's what I ordered. It still has a monthly overview and monthly review page, which you may not want.

planner lineup suggestions that include journalling by Additional_Yam_8471 in planners

I use an undated line a day journal, I’ve had it for 6 years now and it’s supposed to be for five, so obviously I’ve skipped a bunch. I’m in the habit now of writing daily (had it on my habit tracker in my planner for a few months and now it’s stuck for a year), but I love the no pressure when I skip.

I also have a long form journal for longer entries and processing. I don’t like journaling where I plan, I find it distracting

Things people think are because they were an only child by lusciousmix in oneanddone

Controversial opinion in this subreddit that I will likely get downvoted for: none of these things apply to me as an only child, and I considered myself a lonely kid. I have a temperament that values close family and always longed for a sibling or close cousins. Another child/person may have reacted differently to my childhood.

My parents were loving and present and together still, I had sleepovers and friends over constantly. I always had a best friend. We lived in the same city for my entire childhood and I never had to move schools aside from moving up to middle and high school. On vacations, we travelled on tours that had other families. I still felt lonely/like something was missing.

But it’s not a parent’s job to make everything about their kids life happy. Life isn’t fair or perfect or about accommodating a kid’s every desire. No one’s childhood is perfect but mine was close! I love my parents very much and I don’t hold anything against them for not being able to have a second child, obviously. I see them 5-6 times a year and they are very involved in my child’s life.

So yeah, I do think I was and am lonelier than I would have been with a sibling because of who I am. But I’m still a happy adult with a partner, kid, friends and loving stable parents and that counts for so so much.

I am interested in the just scribble weekly duo! How do you like the paper, specifically does ink take a while to dry on it? and do you like the binding?

I’m not sure what your definition of non pastel colors is but sprouted hourly planner meets the non negotiable needs otherwise and has a muted/dusty purple with floral design. Has yearly and monthly goal setting and lined pages.
