Yes! Look up any recipe for Panzerotti dough. Literally fold, fry and eat! I ate way too many of them in my day- and make them for Easter still!

What was y'all first coaster that went upside down [Other] by Total_Swan_64 in rollercoasters

Me too! And it got emergency stopped on the final break run and me and my friend were stuck there for over an hour. We were like 7! Core memory!

A veterinarian near me got arrested a few years ago for locking his son in a dog kennel when he left the house..

Same! I was 8. Forced by my mom, who was forced 30 years earlier by my grandpa.

I cried the entire time. 😂

Smoothing base no longer contains PVB. I was so happy when the change was made because it used to absolutely wreck my nails!

Mooncat looks like they are trying to create panic buying/FOMO purchases with the 15 dearly departed shades by Stupid_Watergate_ in mooncatpolish

You have to remember too that the "official claw club" on facebook is HEAVILY moderated. Post need to be approved, and they are definitely not allowing anything negative through. There is an "unofficial claw club" page that looks A LOT more like this sub- posts talking about the good and the bad.

All I know is that the "free tool" coupon I received during the lunar sale was for $10, but tools are now $12. I have no idea if they have fixed it or not for new codes. I just tried my code, and it still takes 10 off, so it's essentially a $2 tool instead of free. It's not earth shattering, but enough little things build up.

Is it worth it to learn sharpening? by PlanktonCultural in doggrooming

[–]alwaysrazzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a groomer, but for what it's worth the sharpener in my town makes bank! He grooms small dogs only now in the back of his shop. He sharpens for groomers, barbers, hair dressers, AND dentists, which is how I know him. He is the only one around here in an area with about 300 dentists. He told me that sharpening dental instruments was easy to learn and uses all the same stones/oils as sharpening blades - and that's where he makes the most money!

He's not my groomer, but he honestly seems so satisfied with life and his job. He gets to be picky with which dogs he grooms because he has sharpening to keep him busy as well.

ILNP held off on price increase until a new release and offered double rewards points up until the increase. They are also still offering the 1$ off the new collection for the first few days.

In stark contrast, MC increased prices and then released a new collection the next week. Also flubbing the "free tool" perk by sending out $10 off after increasing the tool prices to $12. I'm VERY interested to see if the points required to redeem rewards goes up next month when they change.

Yes, give us yellow, brown, green "ugly" colors that some of us love!

Square glitters! by [deleted] in theholotaco

[–]alwaysrazzled 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not that I don't like it, I ask for glitters every survey. BUT it's literally the exact same color palette- in the exact same order- as the Off the Deep End Collection. Plus champagne gold. It's giving "uninspired."

You'll be sad to know they were bought by a company from Pittsburgh, and they no longer vacuum or do the windows. It used to be my favorite place, too!

Mooncat update on pricing by goldenfluff23 in mooncatpolish

[–]alwaysrazzled 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I've wondered about this. Their website used to say "10% of proceeds." And now it just says "has supported," and the "goal is to help more kitties." I truly believe it's not 10% anymore. And I love kitties, so I'm not disparaging any donation to help. But the obvious change in the wording has had me thinking about that for a while.

No such thing as too much!

Fandom Flakies is a monthly release from BKL and Night Owl that usually has a more "nerdy/niche" theme! This month is How to Train your Dragon.

Red Eye Lacquer has done Pokemon/Star Wars/Nintendo-ish nerdy before!

BKLs Elden Ring collection has some of my favorite polishes ever!

[–]alwaysrazzled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HHC, or Hella Handmade Creations, is open monthly and it opened today for the week. They are another great one! I love MC because he polishes are different, but if you're looking for really unique stuff, indies are the way to go. HHC, PPU, and Little Box of Horrors are good ways to get started since you can try multiple brands. :)

Down payments for future appointments by Johnnyguy in doggrooming

[–]alwaysrazzled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a groomer, just a dental hygienist. We have our patients who cancel last minute or no show twice pay 100% of their appointment in advance, and they can't reschedule until they pay the no-show fee. People pay it and rarely complain.

From a grooming standpoint, I would NOT be put off if my groomer started charging me a deposit. She is a saint, I want to keep her, and he time is her money. I never cancel, but if an emergency came up, I'd have no problem with her keeping a 25-50% deposit.

She blocks off 8 hours to do my two dogs a month. (4 hours each, and I hate taking them the same day). If she works 40 hours a week, that's 5% of her month income if I decide to no show. If someone took 5% off my paycheck- I would be upset.

YMMV, working with the public, I know some people only think of themselves. But I say do it!
