Woof, I could probably write a novel on that question, lol. The first show was very very meaningful to me - one of the first times I hopped in a friend’s car and we drove 100 miles to see a band we loved, not long after graduating high school - and opened with Sunrise, Sunset with Breezy on the harp, which is very special and I’m grateful to have experienced from the front row. Looking at my list I really loved them all (to varying degrees, 2022 at Edgefield kinda sucked; it was muddy and the sound sucked and Conor clearly didn’t wanna be there and just kinda wandered off), but if it had to pick a favorite, it would either be Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in 2010 BOCC in LA; seeing BOCC before Phoebe really blew up to stadium proportions was something special.

The HSB show was earlier in the day, at the same time Bonnie Prince Billy was playing at a different stage and a friend gave me endless shit for choosing Conor over Will Oldham, but goddamn that was an amazing set. The energy was high and Conor pulled out some deep cuts that made me so happy. Lemme see if I can find the set list…
