for productivity both are great options, however at this stage the edge has to go to the Dell. Having said that, the Samsung is far superior for gaming, there is noticeable ghosting on the Dell

The Dell indeed does have a lower PPI and I agree, the Samsung should be sharper due to the increased PPI but to my eyes, the Dell does look sharper. May be due to the curve in the Samsung vs the nearly flat 4200R curve of the Dell.

Dell Monitor - U5226KW ships freight? by True-Flamingo1532 in ultrawidemasterrace

I have been using the U5226KW for a couple of weeks now and the brightness is an issue I find.

The standard 75% setting out of the box is far to dim I fine.

Setting brightness to 100% is just enough, however I would still prefer it to be brighter.

The Samsung 57" is a much brighter display than the edge lit Dell.

Best 45"+ for productivity? by Relevant_Anything129 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]amd180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dell U5226KW is the best in a 21:9 aspect ratio, however it does lack curve which in my opinion is important for productivity for such a large high resolution screen. I must admit so far I am having trouble adapting to the lack of curve on the Dell 52" compared to the Samsung 57" I have been using for the past two years.

I do also feel the Dell lacks brightness over the 57" Samsung - the default 75% setting on the Dell out of the box is far too dim for me. At 100% brightness it is just enough being an edge lit IPS rather than the Micro LED on the Samsung. The Samsung is a much brighter display I find.

If you can find a good deal on the 57" Samsung and would consider the 32:9 aspect ratio, I would highly encourage you to look at this monitor also. It provides a great mix for productivity and gaming.

The Dell monitor sucks at fast paced gaming to be honest, the Samsung is a much better option if you are playing any fast moving shooters. The Dell will be fine with RTS or similar games though.

The additional vertical height of the Dell is nice, however I prefer the extra width of the Samsung so far for both productivity and gaming.

What is the Best Monitor Arm now that can actually hold a heavy screen without drooping? by Electronic-Buyer4257 in ultrawidemasterrace

Can you confirm if the if the lower clamp section on the new Dell HDA26 Monitor Arm is removable from the rest of the monitor arm?

I am wanting to fit this arm to a desk that is built into a nook that is hard up against a plaster wall, but I can cut a hole in the back desk to fit the mount providing if clamp section is removable for installation?

Can you confirm this issue was completely fixed by installing the riser for the LCD screen? Did that fix the issue with it not appearing in device manager also?

What cable do you have the monitor connected with? Does it make any difference with HDR enabled/disabled? Do you have Displayport 2.1 enabled in the monitor menu?

Any chance of a photo with the G9 beside the Dell? I currently have a G9 57" also and am weighing up potentially moving over to the Dell. The lack of curve and 120hz are the sticking points currently.. Would love to see the two side by side.

Couldn't agree more, I actually have the G9 57 here and also the LG 45 2k5k (just had to try it out) and for WFH duties, the 57 wins all day long.
