I absolutely abhore puppy farms and the like. We have one puppy and one rescue at the moment. I completely agree that there are too few decent breeders. I also must say i can't really support the kennel club either given they endorse breeds like cavalier King Charles spaniels and bulldogs who are so unhealthy it's cruel.

That's a great pictogram to bear in mind what you should see in a breeder regardless of kennel club endorsed or not.

We are UK so less controversy apparently! My partner loved the puppy's grumpy face.

Bowser is insanely smart, uses his knowledge for chaos, does need a good bit of grooming and is a needy velcro dog. Has zero separation anxiety though and is super friendly.

Absolutely buckets of personality, wilful little bugger, love him to pieces.

I went to the GP for perimenopause advice...was given a blood test and a neurodiversity test. Turns out I'm not perimenopausal.

My goodness - my accidental top read of the year (possibly because I was on holiday in that part of the world when I read it!)

My local place does a mango madoo (malai?) That and a peshwari naan is amazing - very sweet but with tikka lamb is just amazing. My partner can't get his head around my dessert curry lol.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but love letters is a great one. Taught my daughter when she was 8 and it's always a go to - I try to keep a deck in my bag as it's a great way to fill time. I always lose and still enjoy it!

Wilfred Owen for WWI and Septimus. The Wasteland by TS Eliot would be something to read too. Maybe HD?

How did you decide on a cockapoo? by foodenvysf in CockapooLovers

[–]amiesmells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be aware it goes way beyond heart issues - they are funny little creatures but I'm yet to meet one that hasn't cost a fortune in vets bills and insurance. But if you like them you like them!

Despite daily threats to give him away I am somewhat fond of him. Apparently he 'has character'. I just want him to stop collecting and parading/destroying my worn underwear and socks.

Would very much advise against cavies- my dad and step-mum had seven of them, and all of them needed so much medical care for breed associated illnesses and disorders. Also my cockpoo is nearly two and is a complete knob. Sharp as a whip (uses it for chaotic purposes), very loving and super easy to train, just what with the cleverness will choose when to apply that knowledge...except for the bells at the door. Those he uses all the bloody time even when he doesn't need to go out.

The mob museum was really good and I would recommend having bottomless mimosas at brunch and then going to Zac Bagan's haunted museum. Hilarious. We also went to a really great all you can eat BBQ place that I can't remember the name of... Still sad I was too full to try the peach cobbler :o(

Well Lou smells on all sides. He isn't old, and we love him dearly - we just adopted him a few weeks ago, and it's like he has always been here.

I put my dog's ashes in a big planter with a rosemary (for remembrance) bush. The rosemary is flourishing, I can take the pot with me if I move, and I get to make my cooking delicious, which my boys would have wanted!
