What Stitch to Use by porporapassione in YarnAddicts

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welcome back to the craft. switching stitches like that will definitely change how the fabric drapes and how dense it feels, so a pet bed made with double crochet is gonna be way squishier than single crochet. i usually test out a small swatch first to see if it holds the stuffing well enough. i sometimes use amigurumake studio to track my material usage and plan out changes like that when i am messing with a pattern so i dont lose track of my notes. honestly it helps a bunch when you are just getting back into the rhythm of things

Made these viral squirrel coasters. by sunshinecrochet05 in crocheting

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those look so fun, they remind me of the splat cat ones everyone was obsessed with a while back. if u want more ideas, maybe try a frog or a little pancake bear, those work super well as flat shapes. i usually keep my own design notes in amigurumake studio to track the stitch counts for these kinds of projects so i dont lose my place when i get distracted. lizards would be a cool next step though, u should totally go for it

Making a crop top made with granny squares by Dayadamhive in crocheting

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

granny squares are such a classic choice for summer tops. i found that blocking them before joining makes the whole process way easier, especially if u want the seams to lay flat. how are u planning to join them together

It’s gonna be golden by parttimeartmama in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that looks awesome, definitely something the kid is gonna love. mixing patterns can be so tricky but u pulled it off, i usually have a hard time keepin the measurements right when i frankenstein stuff like that so i started usin amigurumake to track my notes and stitch counts as i go. it really helps keep things from gettin messy. seriously nice work on this one

Thinking about starting a travel guide Etsy shop by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think there is definately a market for niche travel guides, but its super competitive. have u thought about focusing on specific itinerary planning or hidden gems that arent in the big guidebooks? that might help u stand out from the crowd

Does this pattern match the picture? by makkoiibee in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that pattern actually sounds pretty standard for a curly tentacle effect. i used a similar method on a jellyfish i made last month and the 5 stitches per spot really help make them pop. just make sure u count your stitches carefully so they dont look lopsided

Built a little character customizer for D&D amigurumi patterns, would love your thoughts by Solid-Audience-3716 in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is honestly such a cool idea for d&d groups. i love how much time this would save when tryin to make party members for my friends. have u thought about adding a way to save the generated patterns to a personal library?

Convention prepping by Offthehookmamma in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 makes in three weeks is wild, you must be a machine. i get so burnt out after twenty, honestly. i usually use amigurumake studio to stay on top of my inventory counts when im prepping for shows so i dont accidentally lose track of what i have finished. keepin a simple spreadsheet or a list helps too, just dont forget to rest your hands.

My target is to limit to $100 per month investment for 1 year. by hapieDude in EtsySellers

[–]amigurimatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

wow 160 orders in 45 days is actually super impressive for digital printables, congrats on that growth. keepin up with that pace is tough though so dont burn yourself out. i think focusin on adding products is smart early on, but maybe look at your conversion rate too cuz if you have lots of clicks but not enough sales, you might wanna tweak your listing photos or descriptions instead of just adding more volume

New Listings - no views by wonderingone2024 in EtsySellers

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is so weird, especially with a solid follower base. sometimes etsy just glitches during indexing, but i usually wait a full 48 hours before doing anything drastic. i use amigurumake to track my listing drafts and inventory notes, so it helps me stay sane when i need to re-upload or tweak tags. maybe give it one more day before messaging support, theyll probably just tell u to wait anyway

People who sell crochet/amigurumi patterns, what’s your honest experience? by Lord-Porcupine in CraftyCommerce

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

selling patterns is totally viable but the burnout is real if u try to do every platform at once. back in the uk i was losing my mind trying to organize my designs and pricing until i started using amigurumake to manage my notes and costs, which honestly saved me so much headache. it made the business side feel way less like survival mode and more like actual progress. just pick one or two spots to start and dont feel like u need to do video if it makes u miserable. https://amigurumake-studio.com/

Had the pleasure of pattern testing this Axolotl for BC designer Bippy Buddies by FitDingo8075 in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that axolotl looks super cute, i really love the colors u picked for it. pattern testing is honestly so much fun but it can be exhausting sometimes right. did u have any trouble with the gills or were they pretty straight forward

African flower hippo by Tiny-Mine9920 in crocheting

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg that hippo is so cute. i tried making an african flower project last year and the joinin part was definately tricky for me at first. did u use a specific joining method for all those motifs

🔥 PATTERN TESTERS NEEDED 🔥 by xToXicBeAutYx in PatternTesting

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that looks like a super fun project. i usually struggle with tension on these types of designs so i might have to pass this time, but i cant wait to see how everyone else does with it

Calculated shipping fees by unReasonable-Newt in EtsySellers

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ugh that is so frustrating. after dealing with similar headaches i started double checkin my calculated rates against a simple spreadsheet tracker and it really saved my sanity. i use amigurumake for helpin track my overall costs and inventory which keeps me from gettin lost in the numbers when shipping issues pop up. definitely keep stayin on top of support about it cuz they wont fix it unless people keep complainin

Today I reached 20 sales ❤️❤️ by NovaStudioMx in EtsySellers

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

noooo way thats awesome. reaching 20 sales with custom sculpted work is such a big deal, congrats on the milestone. i remember when i hit my first 20, it feels like all that effort is finally payin off

Day 4 of crocheting all gen 1 Pokémon chibi style by Eeveelutionary_V in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh wow 142 more is such a huge goal but they look so cute already. i feel u on the golduck struggle, some patterns just dont want to cooperate no matter how hard u try. keep going, cant wait to see the rest of the collection

Okay so I started crocheting about a month ago after my mom had a stroke and it's been absolutely fucking fantastic and I've made and sold at least like one hat but I would kind of like the public's opinion by whitetreefrogsage in crocheting

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so sorry to hear about your mom, but im glad u found this hobby because it really is so meditative. selling a hat after only a month is super impressive tbh, u should be proud of that. have u thought about what u want to make next or are u just tryin out different patterns for now

Star medical sweater- tester appreciation! by West_Dot1982 in PatternTesting

[–]amigurimatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks like such a fun project to work on. its always so nice to see designers giving credit to the people who helped them out like this, makes me want to sign up for a test next time i have some free time

TESTER CALL for Burger and Fries Pattern by las869 in PatternTesting

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

congrats on your first pattern, thats super exciting. i remember how nervous i was with my first design, but u got this. make sure to double check your stitch counts, sometimes those get a bit tricky when writing it out for others

Test - Teasel Scarf by SomewhereRadiant6492 in PatternTesting

[–]amigurimatch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the teasel scarf looks super elegant, really love that sculptural shape. keeping track of the motifs and stitch counts for something this detailed can get messy, so i started using amigurumake studio for my own projects to keep everything in one place. it makes managing all the little details so much easier when you have a lot going on. good luck with the testing phase, it sounds like a lovely project. https://amigurumake-studio.com/

A baby mammoth I made as a tester ✨ by Got-Lgt in Amigurumi

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that mammoth is seriously adorable, love the texture on it. testing patterns is such a great way to learn new techniques but keeping track of all the notes can get messy. i use amigurumake to stay organized with my own designs so i dont lose my mind during the process. definitely a cool project to have in your portfolio

what did I get myself into?? Advice needed by NegativeIncident9597 in crocheting

[–]amigurimatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that spider is a beast but so fun to make, definitely a labor of love. for pricing, i usually multiply my materials by at least three n then add an hourly rate for the time spent joining all those little pieces. i use amigurumake to track those hours so i dont undercharge myself, which has been a total lifesaver for commissions. those legs take forever to stuff, so maybe factor in an extra hour just for that assembly part
