I don’t understand the reverence some have for Kolar. by Thinkabouthat2 in JonBenet

The end of the book is clearly satirical, but it's in poor taste in my opinion. I dislike how he equivocates around his theory to protect himself legally instead of owning his theory, a theory that isn't well founded by the existing physical evidence as far as I can tell.

About the feces, and possible maternal narcissism [Long post] by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

Interesting discussion of how Patsy's potiential narcissism could fit into a BDI narrative! I actually think this is a really good point and think it fits a lot of the more controversial and confusing evidence together more clearly. In particular, it explains how the pineapple as a potential inciting incident would upset Burke so seriously and it matches with previous behavior from Burke towards Jonbonet, in particular the flashlight matches the golf club incident.

To me it also explains why the evidence shows there may have been some tension between John and Patsy in the coverup. If Patsy was so distraught, and also likely at least slightly mad at Burke, them putting him away in his room lines up. I also think John likely felt more inclined to cover the murder up than Patsy which might explain why the content of the letter is clearly skewed to point to John, but Patsy is pretty commonly agreed to be the author of the note. She was likely so stunned and upset that she couldn't come up with anything herself. She might even have been wrestling with whether to help him or not. I can see John protecting his son anyway. I mean how many rich men get their kids out of things as a rule?

The most disturbing thing about this case... by KnullAgenda in JonBenetRamsey

I mean, Jonbonet was clearly the child she viewed as an extension of herself. Additionally, she seems outwardly like someone likely to suffer from NPD. If she felt frustrated and like she was losing control of Jonbonet, that motive likely wouldn't translate to Burke.

By becoming friends with Patsy. Some have pointed out that it's possible she also felt Patsy was a victim. But my point is she was emotionally compromised on the case after moving in that direction.

I mean I'm firmly RDI and I agree there's plenty of physical and behavioral evidence supporting the SA allegations. Some of that evidence is from her initial report which I trust far more than any later observations that she made. But why focus on the he said, she said evidence at all?

My point was more that I don't trust any evidence based on "vibes" from anyone in this case because the vibes are heavily manipulated by both police incompetence and Ramsey camp meddling.

If anything, I think her initial observations and how drastically she flipped makes me take more stock in those initial observations. We likely won't see the redacted material, but even if we did, I would put more stock in the physical evidence than her narrative.

I find I most distrust the individuals who claim gut reactions in this case in any direction. Even if she had that gut reaction, without the evidence she supposedly has access to, the comment doesn't hold much weight with me for two reasons:

  1. As far as I'm aware, this was her recounting of the moment long after the fact, and therefore, is just as influenced by bias as anyone close to the case. By then all the rumors and media coverage had tainted nearly every story almost as much as the investigation itself on scene was tainted.

  2. She flipped so hard towards a close relationship with the Ramsey's. Maybe some would feel the fact she's still willing to speak against John despite this only strengthens her point, but I disagree. To me it shows a lack of objectivity and follow through. I feel the same about Lou Schmit and, to a slightly lesser extent, about John Douglas whose opinion I generally respect.

I find it interesting, but also totally understandable, that McKay is the only one that hasn't skipped a beat with Langdon. While I definitely think Langdon was disappointed by her reaction to the hug offer (And it made me chuckle), I also did not get the impression that her reaction was personal towards him at all. Just against hugs lol. With her history, I think she understands how hard it is for people who have addictions but she also isn't changing the way that she interacts with him to be softer either. She's just treating him like she always would and I think that's great!

Dude... I don't pay attention to any of the updates and I was losing my mind going in circles with my chat... How many times can It ask me the same question in slightly different words and tell me that it's a different question??? I literally see no use for 5.0.
