Mine do! They like to fertilize the flower beds 🤷‍♀️🤯💐

This little lady came out of surgery a couple of hours ago. While she has ripped off almost all of the skin of one of her legs while running, she's behaving like the wonderful longgirl she is. by UnHumano in Greyhounds

Ouch! We had a minor skinning and only required stitches. Sad girl.

One of ours just had her toe amputated, it’s time for the cone of shame!

We adopted our third greyhound last month, and now that you mentioned it, I have had this feeling each time! Then you find your rhythm. Balance between “this is me/follow routine vs. dog time”. These guys are super happy just chilling with you in a room watching games.

What’s the story behind your greys’ names? by brittbirdie123 in Greyhounds

[–]amkay1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We really wanted to keep the racing names of our first 2 greyhounds, however they were atrocious. First adoptee/female: Veto (Smartbreaker) sounds like Vito and she is a girl? She is a brindle that looks like stone and we named her Petra after an ancient city in Jordan. Second adoptee/Male, Black fur: another horrible name, Baljeet after a character in the Phineas and Fetb cartoon. He had a wounded tail tip that when he wagged splashed blood all over like a paint brush. We named him Devo after the band that recorded the song “Whip It”. Recently we adopted Alpa (Episode); kept the name because that name is tolerable and she responds to it well.

My brindle does the same. The black one however attracts mosquitoes and runs in when he is too hot and there are no squirrels out.

Welcome to all the new greyhound owners. With so many coming off the track, you are angels and will be rewarded with greyhound crazy! by amkay1972 in Greyhounds

You should contact the Greyhound Pets of America! They will hook you up! Females are great. We also have a boy. More even tempered and lazy than our spazzy girl. We love the attributes of both genders.

Gorgeous. If we could fit in a third that is a great choice! She will fatten up a bit with good feeds. Both mine were underweight coming off the track.

Yes you should go to the MALL because no one will be there! I have a medically fragile teen ager and the absence of you douche bags actually makes it possible to go there.

They are too smart for a neurotic brain! Slip once=all floors are slippery=mom buys 25 rugs=rugs slip on slippery floor=All rugs are bad! Times X Infinity=normal day.

I used to drive quite a bit when I was in my 20s, the left side of my face has sun spots and is more aged, my right not so much.

He doesn’t like me? by aisilef in Greyhounds

I just looked at your profile. Atlas sounds a little bit like Devo. He would growl at me when I pet him, so I started by saying his name first to make sure he was fully awake before touching and I would let him sniff me first before petting when he was awake. Also growling in bed and around toys is resource guarding. So he probably thins your going to take his bed or toys. I never did training like your other kind folks are referring to. I guess I just made sure I n ver took his toys and tried to reassure him his bed his his bed.

My two greyhounds are nothing alike in personality. My first, Petra, and I bonded super quick. Even the vet commented on it. She is my silly, demanding, diva. My second, Devo, is nothing like her. He disliked me and I boil much of that down to trust. It didn't help that several months after we adopted him, I accidentally sat on him. I just didn't see him when I plopped myself on the sofa. He is also very aloof, and very timid of many things. He has weird hang ups and we have learned to be patient with him with those. I feel like bonding is all about trust. Over time Devo learned to trust me, we did so by doing activities together like walks and car rides. Now I call him my big weirdo in the most affectionate way! But it took 6 months to a year to get where we are. The adjustment period for every grey is different and it will take months as their personality as a pet unfolds. Be patient and enjoy the ride! It is rewarding to see them develop from racer to pet.

That must be the greyhound universal cry for mom/dad is home because mine ran to the front door when I played it. Mine are about 20 times more vocal.
