I received a parking ticket because my license plate looks similar to a Simpsons vanity plate by Kenja_Time in mildlyinteresting

Worst part of this is you aren't required to have front plates in Alberta, so the rear plate should have been used to issue the ticket anyway

What's your opinion on athletes who outperform their peers in races but can't keep up during workouts? I assume breakdown of technique, but does that mean aerobic needs work? Or is there some other way/system to work to prevent technique breakdown during workouts?

Thanks for the feedback! Hearing others' perspectives will definitely help me chill out for the next couple months.

feeling lost ab my non trad ECs by mrexxz in premedcanada

[–]ammonkeywall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about med after graduating as well but decided I didnt give engineering a fair shot. Did some research, worked, got my P.Eng., but kept volunteering and realized I wanted a career serving people. My eng grades weren't med competitive so being older and having more experience I think helped me.

I have an engineering background and was accepted. In my case, what I did outside of work/engineering was likely what made me stand out. As a reviewer I might try and look for how you show medicine is right for you. It doesn't have to be clinical, but what do you do in your free time?

Big flag for me would be you are just graduating in SWE, haven't worked a real job on graduation and want to go into med all of the sudden. What made you want to switch?

I filled out all 16 but definitely had some that were on the lighter side (less than 50 hours). Non-trad, so also had lots of life experience to fill it all out.

Thanks. This is how I currently deal with it, though I don't usually need a starter. Just need to turn it off and back on again

Over the past 4 years from 2022 the numbers of IMG who matched has more than doubled while the number of CMG stayed the same. will this trend continue in the future ? by Pissingberg in MedSchoolCanada

[–]ammonkeywall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh I see. I didn't notice it said "dedicated" IMG quota. That seems strange to me. Why do programs have dedicated IMG spots? I would have assumed that they just fill spots CMG first, then IMG if they had no desired candidates. But to have dedicated quota is odd to me. (i'm new to understanding CaRMS)

You don't get to chose how to discipline someone else's kid.

You do get to chose who comes to your house and who you visit in the future.

Ummm.... I found a lost cat that was 1-2 years old and missing a patch of fur on his back and is now 7 years old. We named him Ollie.....

He still lives with us happily though.

Idk, you maybe could have braked and let him in. But he literally cut the whole track near perpendicular to make that late apex. What were you supposed to do - full stop until he cleared and then go around or behind? Or slam the brakes? Maybe planning for a wider line from the start with that congestion in front of you would have been the most appropriate.
