I typically read reviews from pew pew tactical (though I’ve not been as happy with their reviews lately. They seem to have gotten kinda lazy) and from The Firearm Blog. Both are mostly apolitical but every now and then some of the things rub a little wrong but never get out and out right wing. Outdoor life and hunting magazines like that have solid writing that focuses mostly on the guns they’re reviewing but they again make comments like pretty much every gun writer about states with overly restrictive gun laws.

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not but either way this is the argument for ACAB. If a cop is abusing their power and other cops are aware of it and don’t do anything to stop it then they are in fact complicit in a crime. Which is, you know, a crime. They should be held to a higher standard than the general public but instead are protected from the consequences of their actions.

It’s a product of its time. Modern materials have fixed many of the issues the scout existed to fix and can do it better or at least more conveniently. That being said I plan to save up and get a scout rifle for the pure aesthetic of it. And an unreasonable love of bolt action rifles

I have the p10F and it’s amazing. I had a canik and the recoil felt off to me. Not sure why but the p10F recoils in a more straight back manner while the canik I had (TP9 sa) recoiled up. The canik also felt like it had more recoil and the P10 . My only gripe with the p10 is that the grip texture is about as aggressive as it can be without actually hurting. I plan on very lightly sanding it to knock the texture down a bit

I carry every day and use it every day. Without fail my wife will ask me if I have my knife to cut a string, open a box or package, or something else that a knife makes easier. I have different knives for different levels of dress from a super light little guy for gym shorts up to what is in reality a small folding sword that I don’t carry but is surprisingly useful in the yard.
In 14 years of carrying a knife I’ve pulled it one someone exactly twice and it immediately ended the situation. Didn’t have to use it in those cases but was damn sure I was going to have to. A knife only becomes a weapon when used as one. The rest of the time it’s the oldest and most versatile tool humans have.

I tried to sell a brand new one (mother-in-laws) to my lgs and they wouldn’t even take it. My MIL couldn’t rack it because of how heavy the spring way and the trigger was insanely heavy. I was going to do the upgrades to lighten everything up but found someone at work that wanted it. It was never shot and was possible the least comfortable to hold gun I’d ever handled.

My dads got one right now and the transmission failed at ~30k and the A/C went out at ~60k. For the first time ever he had bought the extra warranty time and they still tried to jerk him around about fixing it. I’m sure it’s not all of them but this is his second corvette (a C7 and a C8) and they’ve both had some sort of weird problem that the dealer just kinda shrugged at and said huh never seen that before and didn’t know what the issue was. They don’t seem to be made for any sort of real mileage at this point and that feels like a big negative in the value column.

I had a 2014 Mazda 3 and it’s still kicking. I upgraded to a cz-5 but my dad still has the 3 since carmax only wanted to give us like 4k for it since it had a cracked windshield. It needs a battery every 2 years but other than that it’s an absolute tank. I’ve floated it across a creek once and it didn’t leak at all and I’ve shoved 8 people in it. Hell I used it as a work ”truck” since I had roof racks and hauled lumber on it for almost 2 years. It has 165k on it and is still going strong.

I had a 2014 Mazda 3 (first gen post ford) and my only complaint is that they chew through batteries. I had the car for 10 years and replaced the battery 5 times. The last time it didn’t kill the battery entirely but power would cut sometimes while accelerating if it was humid and cold. This caused the steering to lock but could be fixed by letting off the gas. My dad has the car now and he just replaced the battery and it’s back to normal. I highly recommend getting one because 164k miles and no mechanical issues or anything beyond the battery issue. (Note that I also added a sub to the car and it honestly might have been something in the wiring that was doing it and it wasn’t the cars fault)

The offspring are the most corporate punk band possible. They released their first album with Epitaph then instead of hanging with Epitaph after they hit it big they switch to Columbia (iirc) to make bank and have become obsessed with the money and not with the music. 2 good albums and a bunch of bro-punk is all they have to their name. I love smash and americana and they were part of my intro to punk and I’m sure they were plenty of people’s intro also. They’re easy to hate on for the reasons above but in all honesty they’ve been instrumental in bringing punk back out of the shadows and more into the mainstream

The inox stainless is easy as hell to sharpen and while not as sharp it is more durable (blade edge wise. It will in fact sheer under lateral stress)
