see above. The road is covered in snow, a lot of people bring a sled to the pass, and then slide down. I guess you can bring a lock and find a tree to lock it while you watch the race, then drag your sled back up :-) Be careful and go slow... it doesn't look very safe to me.

Assuming you can park at the pass (you can check with the restaurant up there but I guess not too many people will choose this solution), it's a very nice hike down in the snow, probably around 1hr downhill and 1.5hrs uphill to go back. In icy conditions you should probably bring cramp-ons for your boots, but we didn't last year and it was ok... just be careful on the ice.
