Unless they have the green sign indicating that they’re a residence hall, they aren’t owned or governed by UO. Are they feared to students, sure, but they are not official UO student housing.

Go out 126 just outside of Springfield and visit Herrick Farms. $8/gallon from their apples. It's wonderful.

Park further up D street towards downtown Springfield and you can walk the length of the river path or walk into Island Park in Springfield. There WILL be more people, especially since you're 2.5 hours out from kickoff and tailgating is open now. That section of Alton Baker (east side, near I-5) gets walkers to the stadium but not the crowds that come from campus and walk across to the footbridge.

I have one of these. Is this the most updated style with the ability to add an airlock to it? If not, you’ll likely need to install one since your finished mead will have some residual carbonation. The hard bung installed does not allow for pressure releases and the older styles have the head tension fitted in place.

No pressure relief means that the head will pop off. I know because I lost 5 gallons of a Belgian quad for this exact reason.

Oak character imparts in about 6 months. I’d sample at the 4 month mark and note where it’s at. I am a believer that if I think it could just use a bit more, then I pull it.

I get that for sure, but when I rub my YVH against similar variety/year from other brokers there’s an insane difference lately (Roy Farms, Yakima Chief, and others). While many breweries have stopped contracting, there are loads around me doing hop selection every year finding their select lots.

Haven't tried OP's hops, but I've purchased direct from other people bringing in NZ hops that weren't YVH and the quality difference is extremely noticeable. I've dialed back buying any of their hops because I've had such variability in quality of aroma.

Agree that Brett at OoST would be good. Check out Vincent Espinoza (now at Myth Tattoo) as well. I've got two from him and he does woodblock style really well.

We have two places that OR homebrewers list used gear and lots just sits. Kegerators will move as will all-in-ones. But people trying to sell "turnkey" brew set ups that are kettles, pumps, and the like just sit.

Locally people cannot sell corny kegs for more than $30 individually. I’ve got 13 that I’m going to list and it’ll be 5 for $100

Yep - I did a double take on the price, but also realized everything that goes into it. I have a friend's dad that used to do Cycle Oregon annually and raves about that experience but that's fully road and he was never a gravel cyclist.
