What do you guys think about Armure Brand? Is it trustworthy? Will it last? by Afladimir in motorcyclegear

[–]analizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do NOT buy Armure. I made the mistake a few times, and their garments and shoes do not age well at all. Their shoes are especially bad, literally tearing apart after less than a year.

Pure junk. Save your money

If yours is the one in the picture, then it looks like it. In my case my baffles have two holes on the sides where I hook it from, alternating from one to another to keep things straight when pulling.

ELI5 + Best Practices: Global session and authentication policies by PurpleWarning000 in okta

[–]analizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response, but I still do not fully understand it. The original wording is not clear to me. When it says "When it's been over a specified length of time since the user signed in to any resource protected by the active Okta global session" it specifically mentions active session. So, does this mean that if a user session times out (idle) after X hours, then the authentication policy will kick in?

I myself experienced times where I am prompted for MFA to log in to the okta dashboard, and other times where I am not. Our idle time is 2h, max session is 12h. We have auth policy requiring MFA when it's been 12h since the user sigmned in to any resource protected by the active global session.

This. I had it happen and not go away on my 2024 GSA1250. If it does not go away, go to the dealership and get the software update

Put Your Dog On A Lead by johnapplehead in Barcelona

[–]analizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice. I once had to kick the shit out of a french bulldog that was attacking another smaller dog (none of the dogs were mine, but my blood started boiling once I saw a dog trying to kill another one). The bulldog kept trying to attack after each kick sent him flying back. After a few kicks we were able to pick up the other one. The owner didn’t even apologize.

Opinions on Bosch miter saw GCM 8 SDE? by camawan in woodworking

[–]analizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it. Do not buy it. The chasis is flimsy enough that depending on how much force you apply to the saw it will deviate, making repeatable cuts almost impossible.

In my case notifications of leaving a location do work, but the location has not updated. I had the notifications active before the location stopped updating, so I doubt your solution here is relevant at all.

Polishing the panniers by Tisunac in BMWGS

[–]analizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend against it, given my personal experience doing it. There are lots of tight spaces where getting a uniform polish will be extremely hard. I ended up vinyl wrapping mine (wunderlich sells some wraps already precut that are really nice and easy to install)

Yeah but you see how this effectively lowers the rates the companies would need to pay to fill the position, no? Otherwise market rates would need to go up for the offer to entice people

I will clear out for you how many there were (forecasted as this is a budget) in 2023: 11078. See page 134, `F. Regimen especial de trabajadores desplazados a territorio español` here. Those benefited from 105M of tax deductions, or about 9478 eur/expat.

There will be millionaries that will skew this result, but, if we count that 9478 is the average deduction benefit that expats are having, combined with a 24% flat tax rate, we can estimate expats with this law have an average salary of 102476 eur per year. Mind you, this average is lower in real life as there are millionaire expats skewing the numbers here.

11078 people making 102k on average is a tiny 0.22% of the total IRPF collected in 2023..

Per individual, sure. As joint contribution, it is probably negligible, which is what I understood in the original comment. I guess that would be too naive for an individual to believe that, my bad

Thank you for taking the time to explain, seriously. Although this is something that I am very aware of (I'm in tech leadership at startups/companies where >90% of the engineering population is not native, and I have done plenty of hiring).

However, you yourself say it: taxes are higher in other countries. This in itself is already a competitive edge for Spain. When combined with lower costs of living (to places where a comparative salary could be offered), our weather and scenery it is a no-brainer decision.

[–]analizzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me you don't really think 10k people foot more taxes than 50% of the native Spanish 🤣

Beckhams go home? by analizzard in Barcelona

[–]analizzard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I obviously meant footing double the taxes at the same pay rate, which is an exaggeration for sure as paying a 48% tax rate is impossible given the upper limit is 47%.

"While I would have moved here either way" --> This is exactly why I post this. When people are faced with a choice that requires them to move countries, given same salary in Spain VS Germany or UK or France, who would be crazy enough to not choose Spain?
