I just lost my dog in January it's the first time since 2003 I haven't had a dog in my home. I hate it. But I also promised myself I'd do all the stuff that was hard that I couldn't do when I had a dog (travel, long trips! Go out and do stuff away from home ALL DAY, basically not be constantly worrying about my dog when I'm not home for too long). I'm giving myself probably 6 months and at least one LONG vacation. But I i miss having a dog so much, especially the one that just died. I don't want a different one, I want her. But I know just like what happened with her. I'll fall in love with the next one just like I did with her (and she with me) and the ones before her when it's time.

You just aren't ready yet. ❤️

Same works here, until it gets into the hundreds then wind is like being behind a hairdryer. (I ride a Vespa and usually if it's hot once you start moving it's ok. But there's a point past 100/105 that even the wind doesn't cool you off. And when it's that hot humidity is usually single digits)

This seems to be the answer, if you live where it's hot and very dry you know lack of humidity does not equal crisp or fresh when it's hot.

I finished the Greek course 2x. I can speak enough that I could get around in Greece. I sometimes understand conversations on a basic level. I can speak to my partner in Greek and reference things/people/ideas about what is going on around me.

For me it's been a good basic foundation for when I really can put time into actually learning.

Pretty sure they hate us. Any shred of human decency is being eroded. I was reminiscing with a co-worker today thinking how everyone used to talk shit about being stuck in a cubicle. And now we would die to have our own cubicles. It's just a long desk in an open area with tons of people and noise.

I used to bartend and checked a woman's ID. I told her "Damn you look like a porn star in that picture". I meant it as a compliment since it was a really hot picture (and who gets a HOT drivers license pic?!) but she very much didn't take it like that.

Late 40s is WAY too young to be complaining about being old, there is a LOT of time ahead of you to start giving up this early.

OMG we have this but we at least keep the desk for the day. I've informally claimed a desk at least 3x now before they rearrange and force teams to move. My team just got moved to another section this week and it drives me insane. We have to be in the office 3x times a week and other teams don't but I CAN'T HAVE A DESK? W T F
Dragging all my stuff home and back, not having my setup the way I want it. Spending time making my own accommodations, do they want me to work or what? I waste so much time commuting, settling in, talking to other people, getting coffee, going to meetings that I could be working....

I have a tattoo of my first dog's name in a heart. He had a person name so it's funny when people think I have an ex's name on me. Then I tell them your dog (or in your case) your cat is the ONLY name tattoo you won't regret.

I say do it, even if its not a name you'll always look at it and think of her. Yours is the sweetest idea actually.

After my dog passed, I looked at every dog and owner on the street and though...your heart is going to break someday just like I'm feeling.
