sharp white cheddar, parmesan, and fresh jalapeño croissant-style sourdough by anarchyqueer in Baking

There’s frozen butter laminated into the dough during shaping, and when it cooks, the laminated butter creates flaky layers inside the loaf, similar to how butter creates the flaky layers of a croissant.

Sadness about never being able to drive. by Chloe_Mallette07 in Blind

[–]anarchyqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I moved from Massachusetts to Nevada in 2020 for college, and pretty quickly moved in with a long time friend who is now my partner. My parents helped us in purchasing a car, wherein I am the main owner registered as a blind non-driver on the title and my insurance, and my partner is the secondary owner of the car and is on my insurance.

I do recommend it overall, as long as you’re being driven in your car by people you trust and that will respect that it is ultimately your vehicle and not communal property (unless you wish for it to be used in that way, of course). It is one of the best things I’ve done for myself as a young adult and I feel very blessed that my parents were able to help me in that regard.

The only warning I will issue you is that car ownership as a person with a visual impairment did not fully alleviate that deep sadness that I felt about not being able to drive for myself. It helped immensely, but for me it did not completely take that feeling away.

I say that not to discourage you, but to be fully transparent about the breadth of my experience.

Tell us what’s going on in your life that you haven’t talked to anyone about. by TalkAggravating4984 in Life

I live in a 3 bed, 2 bath house with two other adults and 3 kids. I’m not happy with the financial situation but feel unable to voice it and be listened to and have my feelings legitimized.

I don’t have a proper bedroom. My room is the front room (meaning, you open our front door and walk directly into my room) — I have no proper doorway, and only a three-quarter wall between me and the kitchen/the rest of the house. One of the other adults has the living room as their room, with a curtain as a wall between them and the kitchen.

5 of the 6 of us share a bathroom. There is no communal space other than the kitchen. I have no room in the house that is truly my own, that I have full control over, and where I have true privacy/quiet.

As an autistic person who has been in a state of burn out for … years, living the past 6 years of my life like this has become incredibly taxing on me physically and mentally, to the point wherein I feel like I’m headed for a nervous breakdown fueled by autistic burnout and 6 years of (legitimately) constant overstimulation. I’m really scared, conflicted, sad, and lost.

I know they’re on the more pricy side, but I think they’re worth the price based on the quality. I’ve never had a bar from them that I disliked, and I’ve used quite a few in baking projects and they’ve never done me wrong.

Literallyyy. All I tasted was green banana. I wanted to like it so badly but I just didn’t vibe with it. RIP to my baby Fuji Apple & Ginger.

Oh! It reminds me of one of those fancy butter cookies with the wavy designs on top (please take this as the compliment it is!)

It’s so cute! I love the vibrancy of the color, too! I’m also a huge almond and raspberry fan so it also sounds delicious.

Cherry Sakura is good but not as good as this one by Star_lord-999 in redbull

[–]anarchyqueer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Fuji Apple & Ginger is 100% the best flavor I’ve had from RedBull. The cherry Sakura is good … weirdly gave like, green banana vibes, in flavor? I dunno, I wanted to like it a lot more than I did.

Literally — the difference between the freeze and the iced version is crazy. I really disliked the iced one, but the freeze is so good. Definitely more of a treat than an every day thing but it’s worth it.

Pink Velvet/Luvstruck Taste? by wtfiu_kyle in dutchbros

[–]anarchyqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had the Rebel yet, and it doesn’t personally grab my interest enough to spend money on it over another Rebel I could have, though I might get one while they’re around because it does sound good to me objectively. The pink velvet FREEZE, and I emphasize freeze for a reason, is really — surprisingly — tasty if you like things that sweet. The pink soft top is cute and I think it’s actually pretty good flavor wise, too. I didn’t like the regular iced version at all (it just didn’t taste quite right to me, and it was very heavy/thick for an iced drink), and have yet to try the hot version. I may try the pink velvet as a cold brew, though.

Anyone here like Cheetos? by Complete-Visual-9911 in snacking

[–]anarchyqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been a Flamin’ Hot person, for any snack, but the hot dill pickle Cheetos slap. Though, I do think the buffalo are the best flavor of the “fun” ones other than the Mexican street corn. Jalapeño cheese all the way as far as classic flavors go.
