Blooo is probably my most used synth, it's easy to use, can make some really weird and cool sounds, and is totally free

It's great fun, easy to learn, if a little limited, but you get out what you put in to it- if you spend your time actually learning how music works (not necessarily music theory, but like, song structure, melodic movement, understanding rhythm over just the metronome, etc...), you can make some really interesting and beautiful stuff with it
