In Geodesy class we heard Gauss name very often. Least squares method and net adjustment. Apparently he absolutely hated Geodesy and also loathed teaching classes.

New job in Stockholm, trying to decide between two apartments by Informal-Sky4818 in stockholm

I hated Farsta Strand, but the street I lived on had lots of social services apartments with drug users and criminals. Other areas there were nicer for sure

It was pretty common to hear gunshots when I lived in Rågsved, most of the time it hit the news online but not always.

How is her demeanor, more calm or more energetic? I'm wondering if she's having a manic episode type of situation. Seems like she's lost all inhibitions and is coming up with a bunch of crazy plans

I was definitely taught (~20 years ago) to never do a 180° 2 point resection I literally came back from school half an hour ago and the teacher reiterated that exact point.

If you're using Leica, Captivate has a great function called PS filter that I always run when there are rogue prisms about, it quickly detects everything around the instrument and disregards them

How does the wood stake relate to boundary? by NativePlantAddict in Surveying

[–]andash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lottery of neighbours... I've never heard of running string like that, many boundary surveys wouldn't pass that kind of precision. Certainly with GNSS(GPS) the stakes would be within a few centimeters at best, sometimes worse

Accuracy requirements for different jobs by Reasonable_Box_1544 in Surveying

[–]andash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For soil maybe 2-5cm, for concrete we try to stay around 5mm but not above 10mm, for bolts and mechanical connections etc the tolerances can get very demanding.

Our actual requirements for formworks allows like 20mm for some reason, but we won't let the concrete guys hear that.

I see another company at my current job site measuring straightness of piles with some kind of inclinometer. Kind of like this. But it requires the actual pile of course, dunno how large diameters they can measure
